Went back the other day and played a match just for shits and giggles. Got spearhead conquest and went 53-8. Something about that game really does feel good as fuck. One of those “you don’t know what you had til it’s gone” type of things. Also, man did I miss the wingsuit more than I thought.

I miss playing against the AI. Now every game is like sports at school, where the skilled kids dominate and everyone else just gets left behind. I assumed that vs AI would be a regular feature from BF2042 onwards. Those brief few weeks where we had it on BF6 were great. Now we have 'casual breakthrough' which is about as casual as a rave in a lightning storm during rush hour.

I know everyone hated 2042 but like I really appreciated how it felt like I could use my skill to push my survivability in so many scenarios. In Bf6 you move so slow that survival feels a lot less in you're control. I liked feeling "Agile". as you put it. And because you were agile the devs didn't shy away from really big maps.

One thing 2042 did better than BF6 was the player cards and mastery system. With more T1 skins and badges, it allowed you to actually see what players specialied in, so either before a game or when you got killed you could tell if a player was a vehicle main or a medic main etc. Its so dumbed down now in BF6 you can only have 1 mastery badge and the only way to see someones card is if they are top squad or if you manually find them in the scoreboard.

You should check out a one-man indie game called ‘Brass Brigade’. It’s a single-player only Battlefield Heroes type of game where you can increase the bot count to whatever number your PC can handle (mine’s not very high because it’s a potato)

This might be an unpopular opinion but I really enjoyed bf2042… for me it was the first battlefield I played after battlefield 3 and somehow I enjoyed it a lot.. at launch I mostly played portal and then I played every season with Joy for years.
Now with battlefield 6 I have to say I lost interest in this game pretty fast. The portal mode is complete garbage and the regular mp was fun until season 1 when the game obviously shifted its focus on greedy cod behavior.. after season 1 the game feels literally like a more polished bf2042, weird colorful skins and I don’t know… I can’t imagine to put 400 hours again in this game and believe me or not, I enjoyed bf2042 more than bf6 with season 1.. 😅
I now enjoy arc raiders, maybe I will come back to bf 6 one day but season 1 was awful to me..

2042 could’ve been a great battlefield. Poor launch performance and corporate gimmicks unfortunately killed it. It does worry me that this will be the fate of bf 6 when the next bad BF title launches. No servers and stripped options.

I bought it in release but didn’t enjoy it so I stopped. One month to release of bf6 I said I can warm up with 2042 and enjoyed it a lot of all those iconic maps and super fun play. Compared to bf6, I think 2042 is more bf than bf6. Those little ass maps on bf6 is really annoying.

Air vehicles were so much better in bf2042, bloom wasn’t an issue, tanks weren’t annoying, maps were beautiful and vibrant, visibility was really good. I still think bf6 is good but ye, I liked some things more in bf2042 than in bf6

We all need to come to terms with the fact that DICE aren't able to make a good BF any longer. 2042 released so hard it's a miracle the game is even playable right now, and 6 is blatantly unpolished to the point it released with jets not having AA missiles or any customization. The vehicles are sloppy and unrefined, I mean if I hit a car with a tank, I expect the car to crumble, but instead it sends my tank flopping around like it's weightless.

I miss that doge ram vehicle, 105 cannon and like a fast hit n run, gave the tankers grief . . . not missing the competent squad of double crawford (or the other with crawford n one lis), rao w/ SOFLAM, and falq and they can shut down enemy vehicles both air and ground or the haxorz with little bird bean all in one pass. Or the ace flying wing with the napalm that could clear out buildings / caves . . .
support was kinda op, esp with Falq, that self healing saved me soo many times . . . yeah its loads faster but BF 6 game play feels better overall (gadget use, gunplay, etc). I kinda liked the big map 128 feel, but sometimes it was a lot of down time / and you needed vehicles to get anywhere . . . I forgot how low key / quiet it is compared to BF 6, BF 6 needs some pacing where its not all intense . . .

I would play it if there was still an incentive. For instance if they kept road to battlefield 6 open to unlock the skins or artwork, then people would have to play 2042 to unlock. Otherwise not sure why they would close it off.

lots of things killed it like the safe boot and crashes making the game basically unplayable and with bf6 having a bunch of features that bf42 didn't have made everyone jump ship immediately, only thing it has going is the damage consistency and connections since the devs for bf6 have gave us tediously complex damage ranges and packet loss issues in matches

I played 2042 last week for a final goodbye and very surprisingly I had a good time. Last weeks before BF6 release were full sweat in 2042, but now when all tryhard veterans and 100 star colonels moved to BF6 the matches were quite enjoyable and fun to play. And some of the maps felt quite good actually, like Exposure, Spearhead and Flashpoint.
Would not miss specialists though...

There is this Battlepass BUG, where when you buy the PRO Battlepass rewards get "Unlock" but you cannot equip them, also battlecoins are unlocked but they dont show up. My example, I bought the Battlepass PRO half way of it, now i´ve just unlock some few things, anything bought before can´t be applied and im missing 300 battlecoins.

Game was nice. it felt like a spinoff, like "call of Battlefield"(characters with special abilities and looks). i have hundreds of hours in this game. it was hyped/release was bad/it got much better/it was fun to play for all the years. the soul of this game was not 100% battlefield. at the moment i accept that it was fun and good to play with a lot of content.
