During the PAX East livestream presentation in Boston DBD rolled out the road map for the next year. And they let us know that the September chapter will be an original chapter entrenched in Asian folk lore and that it will be a gruesome and grisly chapter. Today Dead By Daylight posted and audio clip to the DBD Thailand community group. Let's have a listen to it together and speculate what it might mean!

Oh I LOVED the old-school D&D Monster Manuals! They even reprinted them some years ago and I got them again cause it just reminded me so much of my childhood. I used to adore reading about all the fictional and "real" monsters (ones not purely made up for D&D) based on real mythology or local legends and the like. I remember the OG art for this! That artist had a really detailed and unsettling style.
I lost all my old Advanced D&D stuff, I sure would love to get my hands on those old Monster Manuals again sometime!

I just took a short research and another option among Thai monstrosities/ghosts from folklore would be the Mae Nak.
A woman who died while giving birth, hunts her husband in her undead afterlife and can extend her arms to catch people.
Not as gory as the Krasue, but I can totally imagine that arms thing as a killer power. So it could also be that. Especially the "hunting the husband" and this "Are you there?" somehow fit together. She whispers and lures the husband or people to catch them.🤔

I mean, yeah, it makes some sense; but at the same time the characters here need 3 cosmetic sections of some kind, and this just being a head with organs only makes 2. Even if they go the Sadako route with giving different looks to phantasmal or psychic powers, it doesn’t feel like something they could make a plethora of different skins for.

Nemesis has cosmetic 3 slots too, even if the weapon is just one if his hands. Pinhead too, who's weapon you can barely see. Who's to say that you won't be able to costumise one of the guts she whips you with? Or maybe a gut is holding a knife, or any other weapon. Be creative, people! This is a bad excuse for not bringing in the Kratsue.

The Krasue does have a body. She detaches her head and organs from her body when she needs to feed. There was a really cool depiction of the Krasue in the new Creepshow series. One of my favorite episodes.

This is awesome, I know in the game 'Abiotic Factor' they have both the 'Leyak' and 'Krasue' which is more of a sci-fi version of these creatures. But they state that there are many different versions of their species found in different parts of the world, but that they come from another dimension. Just like they had the bigfoot and yeti in the game too found in different parts of the world.

A Thai fan here. This is very exciting . From the tone of voice in the sound clip, it is more likely to be a killer. Her voice gives me chills. Regarding what she really says. “Are you there?” is almost rhetorical, like she knows where you are. It’s giving me hide and seek vibe.
As for the Krasue killer concept, I feel like she’s gonna be very ghoul-like in terms of swift flying movement. In Thai lore, she’s going to eat your liver. Boo!
