Man that's one thing I really wish for from this map and this game currently I want them to make the raids long like they used to be.
Hopefully when the patch calms out a little bit and the servers are less on fire BSG can consider tipping this map a little bit over an hour total raid time.

sadly Deadly, I have done some testing. at about 600m with an SV98 and t46m(82 dmg round) your round is dealing approx 30 damage, not even enough to one shot an unarmored head... the ballistic rework totally screwed over snipers the most, and the numbers need alot of tweaking for it to be viable again

@Destin Bagley there are multiple reasons for that, were you using a higher flesh dmg round than 82? it could have also fragmented. i know this is true 100% because ive tested it myself, i shot the rogue on the gun from the dead tree mountain with an sv98 using t46m and it was only dealing 20-30 damage per shot, not even enough to one shot an unarmored head.(this was at 690 meters mind you)

It’s really a pretty easy solution; just add a threshold that the damage doesn’t drop below regardless of how far it travels. For most rifle bullets that damage threshold should at least be enough to kill with a headshot.
That being said, 700 meters is far beyond what the vast majority of players find themselves shooting out to even when “sniping”. Tarkovs maps just don’t really accommodate those types of engagement ranges.
I think It’s also worth noting that while T-46M has pretty solid flesh damage, it also has the lowest velocity of that caliber so the damage drop off should be steeper. Using the fastest rounds possible may be crucial for extremely long range shooting like you were trying to do if you want to maintain adequate damage.
