Did anyone from you guys found them on Woods, like at all? And where have they've been or do they have only one spawn? I am a Woods main, I play Nightraids and Daytime raids as PMC & Scav & I've never seen or heard them.

On woods they spawn at the scav bunker/ scav bridge location, but will shoot at you once you enter the usec camp or sunken village.
Chance is super low though, and birdeye is impossible to fight on that map as he just 3 taps you whenever you try to move up

They're that hard too because BSG thinks making the AI as cracked as superhumans = they can't be farmed, which is hilarious when all the exploits related to AI come from their behavior and tactics rather than their accuracy, spotting ability, etc. If I was one of BSGs AI designers/programmers, I'd either try and improve the behaviors when it comes to these edge-cases or encounters with stuff like doors, right-hand peaks, etc., or I'd put the AI in places where these edge-cases happen a lot less. Then, either way, I'd also tune the AI down so people are less inclined to cheese them because now they can provide an easier fight. The behavior programming improvements are easier said then done, but BSG right now could move some of the boss spawns from outside areas with very abusable indoor locations and try to move them to areas where the AI acts better, and then also tune all the AI so they provide fairer and longer fights that make cheesing less necessary. IDK, if I could get a job at BSG as an AI dev/designer and help them with this stuff I would take it in a heartbeat since I want to see the game really succeed and the AI is something that's going to hold it back if it never gets improved.

BSG's designers and balancers really do seem to think like that.

I hope one day we get AI that actually gives us a better combat experience. Trading shots back and forth. Chances to reposition. Make them miss more and prioritize arms/stomach/legs. Those missed shots trigger the suppression effect to elevate the intensity feeling. This goes for all of the AI. The combat intensity in general should fit the class of AI that you are fighting, scavs/rogues,raiders/bosses, whatever.

No matter what people are gonna cheese the AI. Tehy could make it as "realistic" as they want but people wil find an easy way to grind out the gear and items they want. There really is no easy way to balance an AI that gives you some of the best loot in the game. They can tactically reposition all they want, but some lame ass with a sniper is still gonna bait them all out and kill them easy sometimes without them even firing a shot, no matter how 'good' the AI is. reset and repeat. Having AI be one of the best places to get high end loot is just a problem in and of itself that needs to be addressed so its not so easy to farm.

My problem is that they know the AI is broken yet still decide to load them up with juicy loot that just incentivizes cheesing more than anything. This has been an issue since rogues were added (some could argue its always been an issue because of bosses, but the rogues really exacerbate the issue) and yet the still decided to pile onto it by adding the rogue bosses without reworking the AI at all .if anything they are doubling down on their shitty implementation.

big pipe rig is like one of the best class 5 armor with 189 effective durability which is the second highest topped only by the redut or what some poeple call the samurai armor. plus its really light at only 6.4 compared to knights rig which has bigger storage but only has 150 effective durability and weighs 9.6 kg

Wish AI had the same limitations as players. With how insanely cracked the rogue bosses are it makes no sense their guns are borderline useless for players and they suffer no penalty using them. It's strange how they make the AI unwinnable against under normal circumstances and still feel the need to temper the award they give you despite being so rare and challenging (and not in a fun way). Instead they're practically made to be farmed with exploits since they're not enjoyable to fight without abusing their limited roam areas and poor AI in buildings, alongside the same bugs and exploits the other AI have in the game. BSG thinks making the AI harder will fix farming but it just encourages it further since all these exploits are independent to AI difficulty, and now they're just making the not give barely useable gear.

i have a video on tik tok of me running into them by surprise and gunning all 3 of them down. it honestly all comes down to where you physically run into them. if you have good positioning, get them aggro'd, lead them somewhere and peak the corners you'll get them with ease.

@Alex Hall Yeah, just sucks how that's really the only way to get them. Aggro and then use right hand peaks isn't the most fun strategy, especially when repeated constantly. Wish AI were actually capable of getting into long and drawn out engagements with players without getting killed or killing the players too quickly. Sometimes they're able to pull it off if their AI derps out and does dumb stuff but then you realize that the AI was being dumb and that's probably the only reason you won and had a fun fight.

I wish they would just tune down the AI and make them more enjoyable to fight normally to give them time to redo their behaviors and characteristics. Right now they're the weakest point in Tarkov's design IMO. AI doesn't need to be ground-breaking to be fun, but trying to hide how bad the AI is by making them so much better than what they should be makes it really apparent that they're bad, especially in the situations where their insane raw skill can't hide the AI breaking. Every time I magdump Sanitar as he runs in a straight line to some piece of cover 30 meters away I can't help but think "this engagement wouldn't look as goofy if Sanitar didn't have 1000+ health and could take me mag dumping him during a 30-meter sprint." If BSG wanted the AI to create immersive and fun fights with the player then making sure the player and AI live for as long as possible during an engagement should be a priority for designing the AI. AI should want to live by prioritizing cover and working together, even if it's loosely (imagine if scavs rushed together rather than one by one, and the more advanced factions and AI could use actual team tactics). Meanwhile, to make sure the player lives, have AI not be instant crack-shots, and instead either have to take time to make accurate shots or prefer using volume over accuracy in most circumstances. Now, if AI take time to hit accurate shots, the player can get to cover and prolong the fight by bouncing between cover, or the AI can continue firing inaccurately and hose bullets that sometimes do hit but not always. Hell, make this engagement mode based on the range to the enemy so they can deal with people at range without hosing you down with an iron sight M4 with incredible accuracy (looking at the rogues and every boss guard in the game).

There's so much they could do with the AI parameters they can adjust right now to make them more enjoyable, but they just keep making them harder because people use exploits that aren't even affected by difficulty to try and solve those exploits. It sucks because the AI is so core to Tarkov right now. They're a big supplier of some of the best items and gear in the game, create hotspots on so many of the maps, and influence how people move and do things in raids. Them being unfun in most situations or just something you get used to seems like a big waste of potential for what they can be.

@wolfdima Rushing mechanic is one thing - just like killa, we can deal with it - but now theres Pipe n Knight, both same time, both hp pool is over 900+ lvl 5 rig, beg for HS or soul will leave your body. Skipping the fact when you are spotted they receive a wallhack. Two - Pipe when locks onto you activates no recoil and ur pinned. No way of escaping. Three - Birdeye, mix of sniper scav, shturman and dose of fentanyl. Pixel of your head is out of cover and can pick up your brain and skull parts from ground. We can catch him off guard - but he also can!!!!!! HE DONT MAKE ANY F*** NOISE. Running, walking, sneaking - no audio. They are too OP and not balanced. Like I know boss should be challenge however it can't be like it is now. Birdeye needs to make noise and nerf some accuracy. Pipe need that recoil reduction be lowered. Knight I found most normal among those three. Maybe jamming guns mechanic would fix them due to their under 50 durability irons. However I personally never saw boss or scav have malfunction or trying to fix it

@pro100 wpache Bro people are already farming these guys. making them easier isnt a solution. their loot needs to be nerfed plain and simple. AI should not be holding some of the best loot in the game in this broken state, it just incentivizes shitty tactics and farming. If the bosses were this cracked but had shittier gear people might feel less inclined to farm them over and over again for easy early game tier5+ armor and shit.
