If the idea of ranked play is to have in bins homogeneous skilled players, they mess everytime. Just select randomly people with the same rank, dont make fancy calcs or social MMR or shit like that. People that are better will win more they go up, thats it, easiest thing ever but 343 does not miss a chance do they?

For me i was diamond when the game came out but new maps and content I play at platinum now I just haven’t learned all the new maps yet

A lot of reasons. After each season a lot of the game dynamics change and so does the meta oftentimes and with that comes a need to readjust people's rankings

There’s a huge problem with ranked right now. It is accounting for social playlists and firefight performance. Even if you throw your placement games, it still will put you in high lobbies if you are good in social. The players in the first game are probably good in random social playlists, but because the flaws system, they match up against Lucid
