Reach was significant because at that point in the story Humanity had been fighting for its life for 30 years and Reach was the last line of defense before earth. This just feels like they discovered Reach was popular so they just threw it in. Doesn't feel like a a galaxy ending threat to me.

Just like Mandalorian season 3, the Star Wars Sequel trilogy, Doctor Who after David Tenet, Velma, Kevin Smith’s He-Man, Ghostbusters 2016…this isn’t Halo. This is a trash show that has the aesthetics of the halo franchise, but has nothing to do with the Halo series.

I specifically got a Paramount account just to watch Halo. I ignored all the writing on the wall for the simple fact that I’ve been a fan of this series since the first game on Xbox. Theirs a unique feeling that comes with being a member of a fanbase since its creation. One I can’t really describe but, I’m sure many people know what I’m talking about. That awe inspiring feeling of being a fan of something great and watching it grow to proportions you never believed it would. I loved the novels and comics and continually forgave Halo 5 and Infinite cause I figured eventually the series would separate itself from the culture war and just go back to being a generally thought provoking military science fiction series about bad ass super soldiers fighting a war against aliens and their own detractors within the human colonies. But even I only made it 1 and a half episodes into the first season that I realized the series has been hijacked by uncreative people who will rewrite and bastardize the story and its characters until it’s no longer profitable.
At this point like with Star Wars or anything else that’s seen a sharp decline in the last decade I’m hanging it up and boxing it up. The story, so far as I’m concerned ended with Halo 3 and Halo Reach while a fun game, possibly the best game in the series next to Halo 3, is a separate storyline that compliments the Fall of Reach novel a book I love dearly and have reread many times. That novel also gave me my favorite character in the series Captain Keyes.
At this point my only attachment to this series is to watch videos like this and laugh at the poor mime of its former self as major companies and political ideologues parade it around like a bloated corpse on strings and make it talk and walk while YouTubers like actman and many others put words to how all of us feel about these series.

I actually enjoyed the first two episodes. Yes they are very illogical in some ways, but as a very big hater of the first season. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The Ackerson guy was interesting and well played (a surprise) even tough he had very illogical decisions. The Riz subplot felt very interesting. The Kwan ha stuff was not very relevant so I didn’t mind. The soren arrest scene was at least cool. And while the CGI is very ass in some instances. You cannot blame them really as they have a very simillar budget to the Mandalorian and I believe the don’t have any Projection screens like they do and they have to do all enemies digitally so corners have to be made. If the show does well. The CGI will improve. I must also praise the cinematography. It was improved SO MUCH. As someone who actually wants to do filmmaking and cinematography. I must say this was not a bad experience watching this.

I literally told myself this isn't halo, it's just another space soldier tv show. John halo still isn't the master chief, he's just master cheeks. his characterization in the show is still all wrong, just a flat and angry military man who's supposed to be the hero with plot armor. They could have just cut frames to make him run faster, but they pulled him on wires to make him move faster for the running on the beach scene. they used the same technology in the hulk movie that came out right before ironman to make pre transformation abomination move faster. it's not exactly CGI that makes him fast it's their shitty use of practical effects and going with a goofy looking run. the slave auction was crazy and really didn't need to exist within the show at all.
the VR fake Cortana that he's going to just to vent about how shit he feels, last I checked he hated the ai in the show's continuity. The marine he saved having survivors guilt felt real, but the whole KDA conversation they had couldn't be real. asking a soldier let alone a fucking spartan his KDA? the writers really must hate the source material. the purpose of chief as a soldier was so that he could stop outer colony uprising. he was created as a super soldier to exterminate rebellions it was just convenient that an enemy to all of humanity came along. it's not until the end of the war that spartan twos begin to explore their humanity.

I think it would have been so much better to have another Spartan go through this crap instead of Chief. Maybe one of the 'dropouts' that are trying to expose the program or something, that could be a sub plot, instead of the focus on Chief or even active Spartans during wartime. The show should not be afraid to be military, it is military. I don't mind showing the UNSC and how far it's fallen in terms to democracy, freedoms etc. Sure, but make it subtle, I'll say it again of Hollywood execs that don't know the meaning of the word. I like this definition: 'Operating in a hidden, usually injurious way; insidious.' But even MORE subtle. I think the Halo 5 'Hunt the Truth' narrative proves to me 343 CAN tell a decent story. Oh and get rid of Kiki Wolfkill. Microsoft cleaned house with the other management, why is she still there apart of Halo, or her version of Halo?

I sincerely hope that's the case, again the human side plots are inconsequential and I don't care about them at all when watching a halo TV adaptation, I would 100% prefer to dive deeper into the ONI angle, they're responsible of so much in the halo universe....and also I would love to know more about the perspective of the aliens like the act man said.....and it would be an insta success if they grow the cojones to show the flood in the series at some point....honestly couldn't care less from the social justice warrior side of things with the other human plots, they could just kill that line and focus entirely on the fall of reach and beyond..no soapy drama necessary.!!!

Bro that first fight is ass, you can clearly see the actors get yanked on harnesses it’s not blended well at all and master checks holds a weapon like it the first time he touched one. The fights are weird for the same reason the spartan movement feels weird, they are increasing the playback to make the fight look more fluid. It’s the same reason for the fog, dark areas, and wobbly camera it probably looks like ass without heavy editing

I have a fear that Makee is the replacement for the arbiter since she's the one leading the covenant forces. I really hope this isn't true and the show will introduce Thel'Vadam at some point and we can see the battle for Reach from his perspective. Also would be cool if he is voiced by Keith David.

Yea I will say I am enjoying the second season more but that isn't saying much. The tone is better than the first. I was really only watching the first season to make memes out of it, but now for season 2 I am at least interested in what the next episode may hold.
