One concern im very worried about: how the new network model handles lag compensation for players outside the US. Im in Australia and i typically get 180-300ping matches. halo infinites current lag compensation helps a lot, to the point its not so bad

In my opinion the main change they need to make with the gravity hammer is to give it a damage scale where it does less and less damage the further you are from the centre of the blast to the extent that the outer edge of the blast does not do damage but still launches players/objects but have the knock back range stay as is.

Easy Anti-Cheat is the worst anti-cheat on the market. It is insanely invasive while simultaneously being terrible at stopping cheaters. This has been known about EAC for years too. Absolutely shocking it's what 343i has chosen for Infinite. Hackers can literally access your entire computer by exploiting EAC. This is going to be a disaster...

I think the performance-based ranking made perfect sense for this game compared to Overwatch where everyone has different weapons and roles. I don't understand what problem they were trying to fix here.

I was pretty excited about the updates to firefight till I found out it was inly for custom games. I'm a little miffed and disappointed. I would much rather see other firefight variants added to matchmaking than just in custom games. Not sure why this cant be done. Seems pretty easy to implement.

Is the new pvp rank update only being tested for onyx 1800 & above?? That's kinda messed up as that's only a small population of players! I've been thinking that for awhile the same amount lost vs gained depending on win or loss.. however more should be taken into consideration. I honestly feel each player should have 2 or 3 visible ranks (one for individual skill) one for w/L & potentially a 3rd that combined the first 2 ranks.

Personally the current ranked system is really fkd up keeping players stuck at ranks.. Sometimes I can win 3 games and lose 1 and be right back where I started. How is that a fair system? The new system would be better or more close to halo 2 if you win 3 you would have to lose 3 rather than only 1 or 2 to be back to where you started makes sense

I'm pretty sure they only balance the matches on the shown rank, but they balance the teams with the MMR. If there are teamed players you can run into issues of things being unbalanced.

I couldnt agree more about the csr bit you mentioned. If this is the direction they want to go (much like rocket league) then your social gameplay can not effect your ranked gameplay. Especially given they arent the same

What about all that wasted xp that doesnt even go toward career rank every match. Especially after u finish the season/operation and the weekly. All that xp goes absolutely nowhere....just add it toward match xp toward my career rank its not complicated. Mvp/winning team etc. + 150 +100 the points are small but they legit go nowhere. So frustrating after 1000 matches. Weekly challenges take maybe a couple matches. Game is great but also so trash i have to stop playing. Ill play for the weekly finish it in 2 or 3 matches but its not even for anything good. They fucked halo up big time

Smurfing has killed this game. And it’s normally highly skilled players that get to a level where they can no longer dominate and experience losing. They miss the feeling of being unbeatable and so they Smurf…yes yes yes I’ve heard all the stories…it’s for warm ups, it’s only when I’m on my own, I do it to play with friends blah blah blah….it’s because they enjoy stomping not competing, it’s bullying and so that’s why new players don’t stick with the game

I still hope they add a toggle for mnk aim assist, one of the reasons I use mnk when a game on xbox supports it is because I hate aim assist (and mnk is just more fun for me), and in Infinite you are forced to use it, dunno why they think mnk needs it, even in CoD Warzone where aim assist is way too strong I don't feel like I need aim assist on mnk.

Mint, I'm pretty sure 343i wont do the Visible rank matchmaking cuz people "have to be able to team up with their friends", which in my opinion goes against competitive integrity in the most competitive Halo playlist. As a solo Plat player, matching diamonds queueing up with low golds is a regular thing and it completely ruins the experience for people like me, whether they are on my team or not. I figure they can't do a solo ranked playlist because of the low playerbase, so guess I'm hopeless anyway. But anyhow, let's say they manage to do visible rank matchmaking. I don't believe stacked players and solo players have the same skill level necessarily and that could mess up with that new system. That's why I think the best approach right now would be to implement a solo ranked queue. Then both types of players would get what they want. And even if we struggle to find matches, we should have the option.
