They need to do what pubg does, which is that hit-reg is 100% Client Side. The only exception is if the server receives information that you are technically already dead, in which case any bullets you fire before you get the info that your dead from the server will not count. This sucks for people like me and Mint Blitz, who are forced to play with a higher ping, HOWEVER it beats everything else by a mile

Buddy, I played Squad Battle today and I literally saw a player melee the air towards my last position, and I died while being about a foot away from the attacking player. I can't get a single match under 200ms ping. If I select Local from the matchmaking settings, it takes over 15 mins to find a match. So yes, I did notice a significant change in the gameplay. 0:47 Ping is King means nothing if I don't have the choice of selecting servers closer to my region.

The trade-off for me is really conflicting. Very happy for the positive changes in some ways, but I feel like our ping here in Oz has gotten worse. I've begun quitting Tactical Slayer matches over 210ms now. If I stay in I have to get the jump on a player and throw maybe 2-3 bursts on them just to land a head shot. For any enemy worth their salt, they will get a reversal on me easy now. But other than Tactical Slayer, or using the Skewer it feels better and not having desync is a good change.

idk, I still don't feel like halo infinite is worth coming back to. after quitting the game a week or so after launch I just haven't felt like it was even close to halo. between the awful menu UI, armor customizations, and unrewarding gameplay, It in my opinion will never regain the halo feels of the olden days. i feel like if they simply overhauled the customization and UI to match or fit what Halo 3 was like, the game might come closer to feeling like halo

It plays like shit on my Series X now. The new networking thing makes it so the game feels really slippery, and has constant micro jitters. My network is pretty good, but I was used to the “Packet loss” indicator being on screen a few times a match before, now it’s constant.

I just need to get used to the change. It is absolutely a skill issue for me and I am not ashamed to admit that I need to get better at the game. 😅 At least I now know I can use the gravity hammer at the same range as my opponents and it finally hits them like it hits me.

New netcode is horrible. The game is literally unplayable now. I'm thinking of quitting Halo now. I'm from South Africa and live on a farm. So I have 300 ping minimum. The game is now really not playable. It was perfect with the old netcode.

Having 6ms latency to frankfurt germany is just lovely for me. For any game, find an ISP that has so called good peerings. That makes a big difference. Also fiber internet if possible

My understanding was deadzones all should be dialed to zero. hmm I will try yours out. Everytime I play Infinite, I get this super weird aiming box. Its not a problem with the game; its my settings. I can spin in a circle. Over halfway on pushing my thumbstick, the acceleration shoots up. Feels like I am aim follows a diamond outline rather than a square.

This update is suspect. More blanks, more frequent loss of aim assist, more ping. 343 basically said pick your poison. Not to mention ranked progression seems to have gotten worse. Sad that 343 chose an MMR algorithm based strictly on K/D rather than actual Halo skill.

For me equipment has been effected the worst. Double activations or delayed activations. It’s visible the most in husky raid. Grapple just doesn’t work reliably enough on say 100ms ping.
Shot registration is messed up from time to time. I unloaded a full clip, with reticle being red, of needler but didn’t even damage the player.

Since the update the shock rifle has become a little less constant with making my shots but the sniper is now more consistent for me. I'm finding my self choosing the sniper over the shock where as before it was the other way around. I'm a M&K player.

Having moved to Japan recently it's good to know Mint can do what he does at 175 ping I'm sitting at 125-190 in most games.

A new bug that I have gotten on the networking model is that I’m pressing buttons in game and the like and the game only registers my shooting, this was at around 300-350 ping

90% of my games feel almost perfect at 22-48ping. The remaining 10% of games fluctuate between 70-1500ping. I don't know if it's a server thing or if it's cheaters. I've seen a few people with the Diminisher of Hope in the first round of Firefight (that game had fluctuating ping between 40-700).

This game needs to get rid of the hidden matchmaking and SBMM. It's not fun to jump into a match after 5 minutes of waiting only to be obliberated because of a combination of high ping and sweats. Just have region based matchmaking so that people can have an easier time playing the game.

I play on really high ping. The biggest change for is the sniper. I'm so used to leading my shots that I can't hit anytime anymore. Jiggle peakers are also really difficult to fight so I just don't take the fight
