Woke culture killed the show. Let’s be honest, they tried so hard to change certain characters to certain races and some sort of gender. HEAR ME OUT, halo never needed that. We have so many powerful characters of every race and creed. Yet they make one of the most bad ass characters Miranda Keys, and make her some push over scientist, instead of the cold blooded strong leader that she was, what do you expect?

People celebrating this shows the state of the halo franchise. Also is on the hard decline even the games. Sad to see growing up with halo. Its days are clearly gone. Microsoft has gears, call of duty, fallout etc. Halo is not a priority anymore the fans are too picky and it costs too much. Live action halo will not be back for very long time and if the next game fails that's it for halo imo.

Adaptions can stray pretty far, but if the original characters are changed fundamentally, I don’t think it counts as an adaptation anymore, it’s more just inspired by the original. Also, I think the halo show was just bad, not just a poor adaptation, because it spent most of it’s time in irrelevant side plots that felt like filler, which would still be bad even if the side plots were something canon. Chekov’s gun: if a plot point won’t be used, it must be cut.

Microsoft just has to look at things like Arcane and Fallout to realize - the existing framework is loved. Use it. Don't knock it down and rebuild with low quality pieces.

Now Microsoft and 343 need to shut up and allow the fans to make "official" video content instead, the fans are the only ones that would be faithful, and any fanon content, or pure fanfic content would likely be far more enjoyable/faithful than the non-fan writers fanfics are. A fan would at least likely be absurd and go the "lore accurate" route and just have the Spartans be absolute badasses which I doubt most people would be mad about if it wasn't done horribly.
Honestly I'd personally like to see some 80s live action cheesy Halo, embrace the comedic side of it just as much as the action side, IWHBYD style. We need a Halo EU.

2:49 Anyone in the shows production who said "Uh, this doesn't really feel like Halo." was sat in a room and subjected to a long interview with extensive questioning, asked to explain why it didn't feel like Halo and what was done wrong. Detailed notes were taken, and at the end of the interview, the person was immediately fired. The notes were handed to the writers who were told to follow them precisely and to alert the suits if anyone else dissented.

I feel like we’re out of the dark ages and we’re now in the era where we are trying to fix what original 343 did wrong . I think we’re taking a step in the right direction with making infinite a better game and cancelling the halo tv show. We may come back.

I'm not surprised paramount dropped it. But I was so convinced and actually keen to see a 3rd season from paramount. Even though the series was a non canon based show I believe it was a great introduction to the series for people who are abit on the older side.
My parents have never played the games or even know the story of halo. But I introduced them to the tv show and they liked it better than Fallout. I thought that was a massive success for the series as a whole for the broader audience. But whoever picks the next season up please go with what Mint says and actually listen to the fans and what they want out of the show. I don't need a complete rewrite of the silver timeline, but a well executed conclusion to the show to make the first and second season worth watching as a whole. Good luck to the cast, crew and new streaming service willing to pick it up. And good on you guys for actually making a halo tv show possible 👍

I have never played that game. 10min ago just finished Season 2.
And agree - for as a non-player, I liked for 70%. It was interesting to watch. But that "Zombie" stuff ....ahh. And agree about the details ...kinda... they could do better.

For as much as I’d love to see Halo on the big screen, I’d say we should, as the community supporting the franchise, not give them any incentive to make another season. I’d love to see it done right, but that’s exactly the issue; I don’t think they will.

It’s only a matter of time before some fan takes advantage of modern filmmaking technology and makes a really good Halo fan film — and I want to be around to see it. Out with the new and in with the original! It’s what the fans want.

Change things around, add things, remove things, etc, that comes with the territory of adapting something into a different medium. This TV show could’ve played around with Halo’s narrative beats in a way that’s newcomer-friendly, but keeps the fans engaged in guessing what could happen next.
But there’s strengths in the Halo games that could totally have been transferable to the TV show and highlight what makes them stand out among any other sci-fi. Swapping out the musical vibes of the games with generic sci-fi synth music is one of the most needlessly detrimental things the show could’ve done.

Not to mention the aesthetic of the show. I watched episode 1 with my brother who is a VFX artist and they just couldn't stand how terrible the vfx was, and for me I didn't like how unfaithful all the covenant looked and how all the weapons reacted. Halo wars 2 has far better fidelity than the show, why couldn't they do something like that?

The Halo show was nothing more than 343’s projection of what they wanted Halo to be, not the beloved Bungie series that was loved by the fans. Remember, they had Kiki Wolfkill as one of the showrunners, who was always running with the narrative that Master Chief was “human and had feelings”. Rest in piss, Halo show. You won’t missed!

The show was canceled because Paramount is going through financial troubles and are planning to merge their service elsewhere. Their priorities aren’t renewing their $90 million shows right now. Point is, this decision has nothing to do with the franchise’s integrity like you seem to be implying. Now that’s wishful thinking. This is much bigger than the show, successful or not, as Paramount is planning the future of its business.

are they ever going to learn how to make a good movie/show adaptation? their have been so many at this point and most are wildly unsuccessful cause instead of going based on what drew people to it in the first place and what people love, they go for some other obscure source, like im sure more people played the video games compared to reading the book, but I swear every tv show/movie is going based off the books, which im quite certain only caters to a handful of people

I think they should start at reach or start at the start of blue team I think that would build up the characters of blue team and John 117, getting his first set of armor, then season 2 reach gets attacked ending with the pillar of autumn leaving the planet, with the railgun firing in the background giving a cameo to noble 6, season 3 could start just how halo combat evolved started with the pillar of autumn being boarded
