I didn't need a faithful remaster. I want an unfaithful remaster where they finish and flesh out the cut and paste sections and make it seem more complete. Halo begins as a fantastic game that is still fun to this day but some of the cut and paste sections are a bit booring. Look at what Black Mesa did with Half-Life, they reinvented parts of it to make it what it deserved to be.

Take it back to MC point of view when you're flying in extend it if you must -- that was the magic of this level, you dropping into a combat zone. This was one of the best levels in a game I've played. Starts of serene, then It gets real hairy, then for the rest of the map theirs an Erie quietness, interrupted intermittently by warthog chain gun fire.

Something about Cortana's lines in this is giving me the uncanny valley effect. The same actress reciting the same lines from 24 years ago but in slightly different ways and with a slightly different voice because of the time gap, it's so weird.

Haven't played Halo nor am I a big fan of their games, but this honestly just feels like they scrapped together some pre-made assets from the library and remade Halo: CE. The visual and audio effects really do complement my feeling about it.
From the uneasy shinyness, the lackluster sound effects, the screenshake whenever you fire and the microstutters just don't give off that nice and polished feeling, and that kinda saddens me. Coming from a million dollar studio, I would've wanted to see more, especially with a remake of the game that started it all. Then again, not a deep fan of the games (though I do like the equipment, tech and lore aspects of it), so uhh take these with a pinch of salt.
Also the cutscenes could use some work idk-

I just feel like AAA has largely forgotten about art direction. This looks so uninspired. Halo CE had the whole early 2000s y2k graphics card aesthetic, 2 went for more of an Aliens Hollywood look and 3 had that cool living action figure look, that worked extremely well with the new ragdoll physics. Reach went for realism, but retained the classic sci fi feel. Every entry was distinct back then.
This just looks like more UE slop. Harsh lighting, blurry af, useless flashy particle effects, desaturated colors etc etc. It saddens me that people by and large don't seem to care.

This was captured in 4K on a series x so most likely low to medium settings, performance mode for upscaling, also a prerelease build so it’s not uncommon for it to run like ass. I know “UE5 micro stutters and blurry smeary blah blah blah” arc raiders is UE5 and that game runs like a dream so anything’s possible. I’m down to give this thing hope because this is what the “New Halo game” is going to run on and look like so I’m not ready to just shit all over this from footage of a build that’ll likely be over a year and some change old by time of release

Been playing CE since 2001 release on Xbox, so far what I've seen I like it, tho it could use some changes.
1. Bungie maps were balanced to bring you a tailor made experience, don't change them, port them as is and enhance the graphics and lighting.
2. Elites had a nice fluid movement, they dodged nades and gunfire and took cover when necessary. Here it doesn't look like they do anymore
3. CE had more blood spatters, something the other titles in the series forgot, this seems way too clean.
4. Keep in the covenant cashes just make them move fluidly like they did in halo 2 and 3
5. I like the addition of sprint, it's a quality of life improvement more than a combat enhancer because of the way CE maps are structured. If they port the maps as is, which so far they don't seem like they did
6. Buff the hunters a bit more they always felt lackluster in CE
7. Make the flood behave more like Halo 2 and 3 flood.
8. Allow the pickup of energy sword and fuel rod gun. (Like bungie intended just couldn't balance in single player)
9. Add the flamethrower in flood levels (same as the sword and fuel rod gun)
10. Please don't make 343 and the library a shit show of brightly lighted rooms and corridors.
11. Port over backpack reloading, it's what made legendary had such a nice balance, at least for me it did, don't know if it was intended by the developers, make it a feature you can disable or enable at will.
12. Bring in halo 2 and 3 vehicular damage, always hated how the covenant vics had an hp bar while human ones were tied to your hp bar, make them all realistically deteriorate like the future ones did.
13. Make Banshee Ai move like H2 and H3 did plus give us the nimble and fluid movement of H2 and H3 banshee.
14. Keep the classic hp bar in. No rechargeable health
And that's all I can think of. There's good potential in this to be one of the best, but there is huge potential in this wo be one of the worst.
