Sorry this is a few days late! I've been very very sick and I can finally record my voice again.
Halo Infinite had so much potential but even with all of the fixes, it never really reached the level we all hoped it would.

The campaign was disappointing and has become more so as time went on, now it's a mid experience, but now we know what could've been. Wildlife, biomes, DLC, etc.
Multiplayer has always been fun but this game is still unfinished and always will be. No lobbies, over tuned SBMM making the game unplayable, no career stats, terrible menus that don't load etc.

One of the worst things that ever happened to Halo infinite was not having forge at launch.
Even the first couple rounds of community playlist in the 444 on ranked modes had great maps and they just dropped off for no reason.
They could have continued to use forge maps from the community, and kept the community creations playlist going every update but they chose not to.

Huge halo fan for decades now, I couldn't with infinite... gave it til season 2 and then just went to other games. Looking forward to their new mmo standalone, and hope they bring all the good (competitive arena whether 4v4 or 8v8, BTB for fun and chill, and hopefully a halo 5 warzone type game mode) stuff and learn from the bad (microtransactions, lack of direction, so much more...)

If anything they should port Halo Infinite to playstation now that it's support is mostly over. It'd help give the game a decent "second chance" of a "launch" now that there is actual content to play, and reduce some of those diminishing returns that the game has been seeing.

Eh, honestly, after the utter shitshow that was launch and the first two seasons, the game lost me completely.
I don't think the next Halo game will do anywhere near as well on launch as Infinite because of the EXTREMELY sour taste that was left in our mouths.

I just wish we got more campaign content. I love the campaign for Infinite, but it feels very incomplete, like we only got half the story. I always thought it was because there would be dlc, but they just dropped it all.

Banning the people making content for the game is crazy.
A similar thing happened back in Halo 4...back when the file browser also had screenshots from theater mode, there was a pretty dedicated sub-community that focused on creating funny or cool looking screenshots. Once a week or so, Halo Waypoint would have a screenshot contest as part of their weekly newsletter that all the "photographers" would compete in. The winning screenshots would get pinned on the front page of waypoint and a lot of the time the screenshots would get turned into avatar pictures you could use on waypoint. Anyway, one week some campaign videos were released in the file browser that you could download and play in the in-game theater mode (remember halo 4 didn't normally have theater for campaign). All the photographers were excited about this because it opened up the opportunity for some cool campaign screenshots. Everyone combed through the footage and snapped their best screenshots and uploaded them to the file browser. About 3 days later everyone that downloaded the campaign footage from the file browser received a permanent account ban, not just on halo 4 but on Xbox live as a whole. That one incident pretty much put an end to that community as a whole. Nice to see that similar bs shenanigans are still happening (not).

I stopped playing after season 1. I didn't care for the campaign anymore. The game wasn't as fun as was MCC. I honestly hope people go back and fix the MCC with their mods like the campaigns. It's quite difficult to play through some of the missions like you used to on the Xbox 360. I did see someone go make a mod with ex game devs to bring back old scrapped ideas and fixed the first Halo so it's not as super buggy and that it feels like the classic Halo. I just hope someone does that to the rest of them.

Halo remakes are being done to appeal to the new players they are trying to bring in since they are expanding to other platforms because honestly I don’t think the older gamers would appeal to a newer generation because it would look to outdated visually and gameplay wise despite how the people like us who grew up on it loves it. but they are also working on halo 7 which is currently in production.

The funniest part for me about the vaulted cosmethics that never made it into the customization until now is that Gungnir shoulders are finally here, but they were in the wallpaper of the first season 💀

I fucking love you halo infinite. Idk what'll happen to our love affair after I achieve hero rank. I'm an onyx grade II General. This double xp is so bittersweet. Feels like going into school on the last week of senior year. Gonna miss this game, prolly won't stop playing it till the next game anyways. I hope they don't take a hard left turn in reaction to the online hate and get rid of all of the amazing gameplay features and aesthetic. Infinite has good core gameplay, and I do like the new firefight, but I'm still salty that couch play was abandoned by the devs to focus on the live service. If it worked properly, then I'd be more forgiving of their missteps because I'd be able to enjoy the core gameplay with friends and family in a casual setting, which is how I usually view offline multiplayer. I really hope they don't cancel offline couch co-op/multiplayer a 3rd time in a row with Campaign Evolved. I wanna be more positive about Halo again....

Dropping Infinite in favour of a new game is such a 343 thing to do, if they were more consistent with their updates and spent less time shooting themselves in the feet we'd have a better game, I can't be excited about a final update that does basically nothing especially when we're no where near that 10 years mark and the game launched so terribly that they had to play catch up, it's happened with many games before and jumping ship to the new shiny toy does not fix anything they're just going to keep making the same mistakes and over promising before jumping ship all over again!

The next Halo will be the last Halo. After Halo 4 being horrible, MCC being broken for 5 years, Halo 5's horrid campaign and failure of a multiplayer, and then Halo Finite* being a complete and utter failure that the developers themselves gave up on, and now this unwanted and unasked for Halo: Combat Evolved "remake", why would anyone want to continue supporting this franchise? Halo: Campaign Evolved is going to be a colossal failure. Who is this game going to be for? Halo CE will be 25 years old when the game is released. Anyone who has ever wanted to play that game has played it at this point. And why would I want to play a game I hold close to my heart "remade" (read: reimagined) by a studio that's failed to make a single decent game in 13 years? Which executive signed off on this game? Halo does not deserve to be milked like this. Let it die in peace.

After beating the campaign ive never touched the mp. Only reinstalled to complete my sons halo experience....thats taken us months still haven't beaten it...

Halo Infinite truly did have so much potential. I'm certain the developers on the front lines did the best they could with what they had, but it doesn't matter when the people calling the shots mismanage everything and squander it all.
Why is it so much to ask to get a fun, feature complete game that respects the player nowadays? Everything just has to be an always online live service with drip fed updates, dark patterns encouraging unhealthy addiction, and microtransactions so expensive they rival what entire games used to cost. I can't stand what western AAA games have become.

Them getting rid of the seasonality of this game AFTER it was going so well in season 4 and 5. Made me leave the game. Like wtf was that?... Completely ruined this game with shitty 20-30 lvl passes that gave you shit.

I genuinely think that the biggest issue with infinite's launch that doesn't get talked about enough was the decision to not include forge at launch. We live in an era where public sentiment and popularity runs almost exclusively by user generated content on social media. Halo has an incredible tool for creative user generated content and expression built into it's sandbox that feels perfect for harnessing that raw creative power from the masses and turning it into fun and unique gamemodes. And rather than prioritizing that functionality for launch so that it could capture the largest share possible of those 200k first week players, they chose to delay it and release it after the numbers had already flatlined and the general gaming zeitgeis had moved on.
