Personally: Who cares at this point? The game is sadly on the downward slope since launch, and like you have said yourself, it’s mostly only the forge creators that are keeping this game alive. Who cares if people are using an exploit to earn (from my knowledge) only 1 armor set from reaching max rank. If they were ruining a game mode, or unlocking strong weapons from exploiting this, then i would understand. But this kind of reaction for something so minor is a overreaction imo.

Whether or not they would let them keep their account or not, was in full well 343's decision. They lay it out pretty plain as day in the Halo Spartan Code and the Xbox Community Standards. You may not like it. They may not shove it down your throat all the time to keep you well informed, but, they broke the rules, and faced punishment. Simple as that.

I just started playing halo infinite multiplayer. Stopped playing it awhile back because I wasn’t good at all. Just beat the campaign and got all the achievements. Anyways when the last update got announced I got jealous that I didn’t get any of the gears unlock.
Started playing survive the undead. Hard as the hell if you ask me. But two different matches with two different people who didn’t die at all. They knew the bug to survive. Now if I asked for there help would I get banned?

The xp should have been removed, and they should have been thanked for reporting the bug. No bands should have happened. The dev and owner of the franchise are not doing their job and have not been for years. This is completely their fault. It could have been avoided if they had done their job the first time.

I remember being up to date with the forge falcons and interacting with them about their helljumpers and survive the undead game modes and maps. A perma-ban is too extreme of a punishment for what they did, whether or not it was an appropriate thing to do. A ban for a couple of months would have been fine, or resetting the player's XP progress to 0

This situation should let you know everything you need to know for Halo’s future. The next multiplayer will suck, & there will be no reason for it to suck. But they will find a way to blame the community. This left a bad taste in my mouth for an already soar game and made me not even want to continue playing, I don't even care about the exploit for getting to hero, I got hero in less then a year when they released it was super easy and it's only a cosmetic I find most people complaining about the exploit are the ones that are not hero yet and needed HS to make it a permanent double XP to get it. These guys did HS job for them for years because HS pulled all real resources from producing any real content and then banning them because you don't have any QA is just pathetic. Halo Studios = 343 Industries. You can polish a piece of shit but it's still a piece of shit.

Plus max rank doesn't give u nun really special like the classics did its just a rank that in my opinion just shows u play a lot when I used to see make ranked players on the classics I used to think that guy has to be really good but now I'm just like oh he just plays a lot. Everyone seems to be rushing to say they shouldn't be banned indefinitely, but the way it seems this entire group of forgers were taking advantage of an exploit the rest of the community didn't know about... hmm, I don't know. As someone who was once a kid playing with cheat codes, this is the quickest way to stop playing. You get powerful, you get max level and all the toys quickly, then it’s boring and pointless because the time and fun was supposed to be getting those things. If people want to ruin their progression and find themselves playing a different game because they robbed themselves, that’s just how it goes

So they can exploit the forgers but the forgers can’t exploit the game?
They should just revert their ranks back to their original rank and do a 2-3 month ban

They got ban because they reached max level -_-
And for getting max level you get like 1 skin....
They really don't want people to get free skins don't they!
Also if it doesn't affect other player experience this shouldn't matter.
The punishment is way too arsh.
I'm very disappointed in how the situation was handled.
