It’s pretty funny of a situation to me, because the issues with 343 for me are the monetisation, content, and a lazy campaign design with minimal rewards offered to help players feel rewarded for their time.
Let’s not pretend the engine is the issue, if the game wasn’t as hollow, more people would put up with the lack of content.

Yeah I'm really under the impression they only called it a live service to excuse the fact there would be no content at launch. They didn't even have game modes to specifically play staples like capture the flag exclusively. I think they really took the wrong ideas of Fortnite which only had like 3 game modes and thought that's all players would need to be satisfied. It's not. Fortnite for example only succeeds because it constantly gets new content every couple weeks and they occasionally reshape the map changing the game's meta. Infinite doesn't have any of that.

Go back to the bungee days the very 1st Halo game was centered around the solo player campaign the monthis a main the multiplayer wasn't after thought. Now that 343 has control a payload for some stupid reason that escapes me. This is what we get as a player base we are responsible in the end for what is happening to Halo. That is the core principle for any product design project, and we are seeing massive failure at this not just from 343, but from paramount's halo series, amazons LOTR, and other tech giants in entertainment. I think 343 is purposefully playing into this in shadows type of perspective with it's community. Because they know their Halo development subsidiary 'Certain Affinity' is and has been working on a standalone Halo this entire time. Which for all we know could be a standalone Battle Royale and surprise release out of nowhere. So that alone would kill off any expectations for Halo Infinite content being churned out. 343 is more than likely just warming the community up to shift their expectations elsewhere sorta.

I don't know much about the game industry and I'm sure the decisions taken involve multiple discussions from different departments within 343/Microsoft, but from my ignorant perspective, most of the actions done come from a "maximize revenue" model that only counts what makes profit directly, not giving enough weight to variables that may not give money on the short term, but are essential to keep the game alive.

Halo MCC has been 343s best live service game and they should focus on making more for that and just stop reporting on Infinite for a bit until they get things sorted out there. Maybe they could have members of their team use the mod tools and release some stuff for console players and PC players if they want them.
Release some of the vehicles and weapons reskined(like br mod for Reach) into games they aren’t from or make some stuff usable. Make the Scarab usable for console players, port over Halo Wars 2 assets to the games like RejectedShotgun did or Halo 4 stuff in Reach like a reskinned Mantis that fits the art style.
Hell make a DLC that makes all the Halo Wars 2 assets(retouched) part of the games and have them as total conversion mods for the Campaigns! Chief could look like a Halo Wars Spartan. Fuck do something with MCC that gets attention away from infinite to where they can work on it in piece and hopefully fix the damn thing it is doing worse than Cyberpunk at this point!

At this point it's starting to be so hard to tell whether to be mad or feel sorry. I constantly feel like I'm going back and forth. I share loads of the opinions that all of us have against the game and 343i at the moment, but I also feel bad because sometimes I feel we're being way too harsh. They've given plenty of excuses that I understand, and loads of others thst just make me wonder how the hell the game and 343i are even still in one piece. It also just straight up hurts when everytime I see 343i try to make a fun post everyone just shits on them. It's sad and depressing. One of the bigger things that bugs me though is I completely understand that they want to expand Halo's audience and I'm absolutley fine with that, but you don't have to throw away Halo's basic principles to do that. All I know is this. Regardless of wether it's right or wrong to wait for what this game needs, I just hope by the end of the year, Infinite is truly something that can be enjoyed for the remaining 9 years. I trust they'll get things fixed, the wait just sucks.

I hope to god they aren't working on a br mode, only 2 possible outcomes from that. Either it is a massive flop and they just wasted time making it over actual content for those of us who actually like the kind of game Halo is suppose to be or it doesn't and they abandon Halo entirely to put all their focus into that br mode. This has happened numerous times in the past. Fortnite started out as a coop base building sorta game but they added br and rip to the main Fortnite game. Titanfall was completely abandoned for Apex, COD quality tanked even more than it has been for ages in favor or Warzone. Br may bring in a bunch of new people (and thus a ton of whales) if it is decent but it completely destroys every existing franchise it touches and as time goes on the number of regular shooters we have to play continues to dwindle more and more so those of us who can't stand br games will be left with absolutely nothing.

I'm a grown ass man who remembers the sense of wonder and lore from earlier in the series. Enjoying the tight splitscreen co-op and crazy game modes we would come up with mixed with all the maps. The feasability of all the guns, the radar/hit box/server sync accuracy.
I'm not even looking back with rose-tinted glasses or with overwhelming nostalgia. I know it was a superior and more complete experience, then what we've got now.
Like, honestly it would be better if Halo Infinite became abandonware so that the community can give it the resources and attention it needs. At least we'll worry about armor cores and the entire shop last—if at all.

Any valid criticism of something that was promoted/advertised vs what you got is not being toxic. It’s frustrating when someone is called toxic when they call it how it is. I know some people can take things too far but they do not represent the majority of Halo fans that are upset at the lack of content and how bad the progression and ranking is. Constantly trying to copy what COD is doing, what Fortnite and Apex is doing rather than making HALO. And doing what they are doing, is essentially telling a child “why aren’t you like X person!” No matter how much they say that and try to change it, it will never be Fortnite, it will never be Apex, instead what I see is Halo with an identity crisis causing more and more damage to Halo as this goes on. When I see 343s version of Halo I don’t see Halo, I don’t see passion I see pandering and trend chasing to get this “broader audience” but all it’s done is alienate the hardcore fans and add halo to the grow selection of mediocre freemium games and I hate that so damn much.

If you just take the most hardcore sweaty "I must have a perfect k/d" players you're going to find a lot of different opinions, almost none of which will be shared by the casual players, the lore nerds, etc etc. And that goes for EVERY aspect too, from balance to aesthetic to monetization, which features to focus on, even just things like what gametypes belong together in a playlist. I've seen community managers say some pretty damn outrageous stuff. One of them was sending screenshots of members Halo Waypoint posts whilst calling them racist bigots. The same community manager also said that she wanted the deaths of people who disagreed with her, and called called a woman dying culpable, because she supported Trump.

It seems like high up leadership is unable to understand what Halo was/is at its core. The same thing seems to have happened with the TV series. Halo characters and lore are utilized in a way that breaks tradition in an effort to captivate a larger audience but ends up souring what made Halo so popular to begin with. Don’t get me wrong Infinite has a lot of potential but again it doesn’t appear as if leadership in 343/Xbox/Microsoft has the vision to bring that potential to light. I can't believe anyone is surprised. They've said all this same shit since they've been at the helm of Halo. They over promise and never deliver. This game is dead and even if it's we see a NMS style revival, it will never live up to the potential it could have been.

Hate to say it but halo infinite looks a lot like fallout 76 *only in the way of content there was a lot to bite into on release but then it's just hollow and lacking content and for future content on the *current horizon looks boring forge mode thats been in every past halo is a highlight don't see a reason to play if there's nothing new

Hahahaha yeah the Halo Infinite live service isn't great right now, but as someone who is also a HUGE fan of Red Dead Online - It still has a lot more going on. We're REALLY getting fucked over here.
