I'm getting a lot of Guardian vibes from Catalyst's aesthetic with the vegetation overgrown on the structures and sense of humidity.
I really hope the railgun comes back, because I think it would be a good replacement for the skewer spawn on Catalyst. It's basically a midrange snipe anyway.

i'm so excited for catalyst. i love forerunner (and covenant) themed aesthetic maps, and with the green foliage looks so nice to me. pretty much every 4v4 map in infinite is human/unsc aesthetics

Thanks for the in-depth check! I do have to say: even though I wasn't as sour as a lot of the Halo fans, the wait and the end result, just 2 maps, is really disappointing. I love the series with whole my heart, but the lack of content killed it for me. I'll be playing more of Elden for some time from now.

The Catalyst map looks alot like Halo 4's Solace map - especially the bases. It was also floating, but to a lesser degree.

343 really needs to tune ranked TrueMatch for decreased MMR variance between individuals and to stop prioritizing match search times. I don't have hope for Season 2 ranked but maybe season 3 they could overhaul ranked as Tom French said ranked is his biggest issue with the game

I like that the sword doesn't melee parry as it emphasizes positioning and movement for the sword player as well as team coordination of positioning for the enemies to avoid the sword player. I'm a fan of a higher skill ceiling which allows for more insane plays and higher individual skill expression

Expert analysis. But I don't really agree with a skewer in Ranked. Sniper and shock rifle I believe have a higher skill gap to allow for more insane plays and the sniper is only on live fire. Map control for that sniper would be important.

If you really want to use that argument of "It's easier to use than the Sniper and Shock," you'll be arguing to get rid of the Rockets in Ranked, given that you don't even need to aim at a player to score the kill. The Skewer requires accounting for projectile drop and reading player movement to score the hit and kill. Missing is a huge punishment since there is 1 shot per mag with over 1 second to reload.

@Nin10do0014 at the ranges in 4v4 the velocity is so high that you don't need to worry about leading the shot. With rockets, there are only 2 shot and you do need to aim close the enemy to get a kill. I guess skewer could work in ranked but I'd rather see a sniper. Let's see how it goes

I personally find skewer harder to use. Hit box is not that huge you have inertia (although you right in 4v4 it does not matter much) high reload time. Sniper is easier Imho. On the other hand sniper has bloom. I guess my point is both demand skills. But Sniper still feel a bit easier to me
