@WantingBeatle46 they did private forge flights for 2 years and rooster teeth were recently in community forge flight 2. It shouldve been there at launch but for some reason it wasn't possible.

I REEEALLY really hope the ranked update stops pairing strong players with weak teammates and using hidden CSR from casual to determine ranked matches. It has absolutely ruined ranked.

My thing is why is it taking so long to make new game modes with already existing weapons and concepts? If they just opened up a custom game matchmaking then people wouldn't need to wait forever to play fun game modes; they could just play the fun modes already in the games instead of the limited ones offered in the playlist. I get delaying the next season for real new content (more weapons, new maps, new game modes that aren't variations of existing ones, forge, etc.) but stuff like kong and purple rain are basically rocketball but with different weapons.
They need to start making real changes to this game in the problems it actually has instead of flooding it with game modes that should already be here by the 7 month mark (no slayer ranked playlist, fixing spawns by deprioritizing ones enemies are near, unlocking a color for one armor/weapon/vehicle to go toward all of them, rewards at every level for free battlepass, cheaper store skins, consistent weapon rebalancement, detailed patch notes on home screen, etc.)

I don't really know what 'ship to ship DLC' will be, but I’m imagining 2 spaceships in space (1 for each team). The spaceships are flying around each other (automatically). Players have to make their way on to the enemy spaceship (with the grapple shot or anti gravity launcher or something), then cause mayhem on the enemy ship. Players can try to use repulsar and turrets to fend off enemies boarding the ship. Players would have to time their jumps as well otherwise they might fall in to space. It’s sounding really fun in my head.

That is true traditional Halo is 5 v 5, which we to this very day do not even have in Halo: The Master Chief Collection playlists. They all locked to 4 v 4 except the BTB gamemode(s*) (Rotational extra BTB's sometimes)

lots of playlists with a limited pop is going to extend search times like crazy .... i think its unwise to add new playlists at this point rather add the game modes to playlists ...if you onl have 20k people playing and you have Event playlist, feista, dubs, ffa, social, social obj, team slayer, quickplay, ranked, btb ... and then add ranked dubs and FFA you are asking for trouble ..rather condence all the modes to a handfull of playlists that can be expanded later if the population returns

Easiest way they could do it is combine aspects from Halo 5's warzone and Halo 4's dominion game mode. Where you capture and hold a base while fighting wave after wave of Flood. Points would be earned from killing Flood and completing challenges and you can use them to open new areas and buy and upgrade weapons, equipment and vehicles. And similar to dominion you can fortify and upgrade those fortifications for you base to hold off the flood much longer. From reinforced walls to shields, traps like mines, auto turrets, maybe even calling in a.i. tiered reinforcements, from troopers, to marines, to ODST's, to Spartans.
Just think about how popular CoD zombies was, a Flood mode like this would be amazing for Halo.

It's amazing to me that people look at all the stuff being added as "exciting new content" when it's really just base stuff that should have been in the game at launch, and are just BASIC game modes that most other Halo games had when they launched.

As soon as they get Forge and custom games working (which should be their top priority besides fixing tech issues), the game should begin to recover or at least stabilize. Forge was what made Halo 3 and onwards truly reach untold heights of popularity and fun, with players making their own chaotic fun and endless player made maps and modes. 343 seems to struggle putting out content, so have the fans make it for you in the meantime.

Regarding Certain Affinity's "Tatanka" mode, the rumor I've heard says it's to be like a Halo 5 Warzone/Battle Royale hybrid.
The Frontline mode from World of Tanks, would be the closest thing I'm aware of that would fit such kind of description.
If it turns out to play more or less like that, then yes, I will see it as an evolution to what started with Halo 3 Territories, then Halo 4 Dominion before we got to Halo 5 Warzone.

Why shouldn't infinite use every version of weapon that halo has given us before. There would be some wicked gameplays if they brought all previous halo weapons and equipment back. And if you think about it that would be a good mix up for a battle royal. Same goes for warzone firefight as well. Fuse the two game types together with all of that stuff and then halo infinite would be worthy of the name infinite.

I've been of the opinion since launch that whatever season launched around the 1 year mark (which we know at this point will be season 3) will be the make or break season. It's far more common for live service games to have bad year 1's than it is for them to have good ones. Just look at Destiny for example. Destiny 1 had less than great launch content and an overall bad year 1. Then the Taken King dropped and the game took off. Bungie basically repeated their mistakes from D1 in Destiny 2's year 1. But D2 had an even worse PvP, which they have largely ignored through the entirety of D2's lifespan. But people gave them a pass. I know 343 hasn't earned a lot of people's faith, understandably so. But the core of Infinite is damn good and I know the issues with game engines + Covid have been a huge hinderance to them with producing content. I just hope people will give Infinite another chance when season 3 drops and I hope 343 delivers.

I'm not going to leave Halo infinite though I'm gonna watch it grow and I can't wait to see how it grows and like you said the the 3rd season will probably be the season that will make it or break it hopefully make it there's so much they can do with Halo infinite infinite and they know what they can do. The question is can they deliver it the right way. Last thing we need is for everything they try to deliver is for those thing to come out completely broken. I dont expect these things to not have something small wrong with them bit not completely broken.

Halo has a permanent fan base technically because of all the other halos and we aren't going to just leave it alone. It would be an understatement to tell you that the fan base for Halo infinite is thin. Of course the Halo fan base I'm talking about are us original fan base from the original Halo CE.

One thing ive really noticed is that speed lines arnt gettinf disabled anymore. They used to turn on after i booted up the game and i would have to go in the menus go turn them off again but now they jist arnt disabling. One minor bug that i hope gets fixed soon

All of that is very exciting.
I do love to see all content being cross compatible, like coatings and helmets for each armour core and coatings for all weapons like in Fortnite. But, along with new weapons including the fuel rod gun, are just wishes.
Though I’m even more excited to see what 343i would drop during this year’s Xbox conference.

I'm not sure if there is anything else xbox wise that I even care about to be quite honest with you unless they give us some sort of trailer from different studios. Halo is my main game it really always has been.

I know what you're asking about but either way they need to do both Supposedly they're making up some sort of progression system but I haven't seen anything on it but they've said something about it but it's been very close to the chest

Halo is not a wave shooter if you want a wave shooter go play another game, Invasion was complete ass to play and never worked right so why would 343 bring that back, and playable elites are literally impossible to balance due to their character models so if they brought them back then people who chose to play them would have either an unfair advantage or an unfair disadvantage so no playable elites are never coming back.
