I want campaign dlc really badly… the lore of this game, as wounded and butchered 343 have made it presently, is what gives me my hopium. It was a good intro game into what could be years on an isolated halo where we discover the past of humanity, mendicant bias, and the primordial; but I am not feeling these endless types immune to a halo ring but not solely because they want to replace the flood with T rated enemies purely for that broader audience (>16). They feel forced as a villain not the banished that needs to be more related to halo than an enemy driven by chiefs fuck up to not stop cortana… could be a whole arc of discovery and new armor scavenged as you play or something for PvP that isn’t over priced teen bait.

If they make us fight robots again I’m going to be disappointed, they just need to bring back flood and maybe another new alien group. Not robots. Make a difference game with a different universe where a guy fights robots. It’s not halo. compared to halo's linear story game style and as an undisputable fact if they were that serious about it,

end of the day as time goes on game titles will become so hard to find their good original names its almost like a username, {example}

It's guaranteed a DLC.
They have just gotten the multiplayer up to a respectable point. Not perfect but it's decent. Now a DLC would be the perfect way to hook players back in.
If people come back for the dlc they will probably check to see how the multiplayer is getting on.

I believe the endless were made by the precursors to preserve them, to heal them in the event of something like the flood were to happen. The endless have way of forseeing calamity and were meant to protect the precursors if they found something to be a threat, but they were betrayed by one of their own kind who would later sell them out to the forerunners. Now The precursors have been the flood for too long. Now the endless need a different way to revive their masters.
So basically the endless will unleash the flood so they can heal them than fail than look for more dangerous means of reviving the precursors. Perhaps the domain? And if so, their gonna need a way in, and the only person who has access to the domain appears to be dead, or is she?

I would like to point out that the caskets in the Legendary ending don't contain the Endless, those caskets have an image of the inhabitant/prisoner species on the front and back of them, as seen when you come across caskets containing multiple different species when you find reboot Cortana. I'm fairly certain those caskets in the Legendary ending are all the shards of either Offensive Bias or Mendicant Bias. Just a theory, and probably one thats already been noticed, but figured it couldn't hurt to bring it up here.

Yes and no. Their supercells are inmune as they lack a nervous system. But as their bigger more complex forms are made of consumed biomass and neural tissue, they are killed and so left the supercells or to die by starvation or forcing them to become spores again.

For those who are a bit confused, Allow me to clear things up a bit here, From what I have read and heard, Amplitude is not opposing the name itself, but the trademark for it, Specifically the "Endless" part of it. The reason for why Amplitude would fear that word being trademark is quite clear just by looking at their games. It has a whole franchise since 2012 called the Endless Franchise, where one of the Species the games revolves around is known as "The Endless". Also they have a game called Endless Dungeon currently in development since its announcement in 2020, a year before Microsoft announced the trademart.

They already own the trademark for Halo, so I don't really see why they need to trademark the name being except for commerce reasons, that being the products related to when they produce the game. With that being said, there's already a movie called 'The Endless' so I don't really see why it's an issue in the first place. I hope they don't completely abandon the setup for the Precursors coming back to judge humanity. Would like the Flood to return with Gravemind's heptameter voice and turning back into the precursors maybe. I haven't personally read the books, but have watched a lot of lore videos and with Infinite being on Installation 07, the Primordial being cryptic about the Flood and Precursors function before it was destroyed, hints at the Precursors return to test Humanity's inheritance/claim to the Mantle, and such it would be cool to have that as an ending to Halo's overarching story. It would be a fitting conclusion to rhyme with the past. I'm curious about the Endless, but hope they aren't just a replacement for something new and scrap the setup for the Flood in the lore.

I still believe the Endless are going to be Precursors and the "secrets" locked inside the ring are definitely Flood related I think. The Primordial was THE Gravemind, the mist around the Endless cylixes is very Flood colored, and on top of that don't forget there is literally a Flood cylix being scanned hidden in a secret room in Infinite's campaign. The Flood are the overarching enemy of the entire franchise, they will have to come back at some point

I really don't like how 343 is trying to trivialize the flood and ignore such a great enemy faction. Sure, this new enemy faction might be immune to the rings, but will they be able to destroy entire species with just a spore? Sorry, I know this rant sounds like a super fan yelling from a basement, but the big part of the hype surrounding Zeta Halo is due to its history with the Flood and the fact that there's still Flood on the ring, and maybe even outside the galaxy if you read the books. I personally think fighting the flood in an open world would be incredible, but hay, I guess we are getting something called the endless and they will probably look like generic aliens that will be as fun to fight as Prometheans...sigh.

I've never bought the "Endless are more dangerous than the Flood" bit, I think 343's just trying to hype them up. Sure, they're immune to the Halo array's effects, which is neat, but the Forerunners defeated and imprisoned all of them, while they were fighting also the Flood, so the Endless can't be that much worse than the Flood :P

343 has always taken a more flashy or all talk and no show kind of approach to their villains and stories. While the originals emphasized action over words.

Pretty sure when they say the endless are more dangerous they are talking “potentially” They were lured and tricked into imprisonment by the forerunners. There had to have been a reason the forerunners feared the endless and if they say they could be a bigger threat then the flood then I wouldn’t hold it against them. The flood is a big threat, but they are not nearly as threatening as the used to be. Most of the flood have starved off, there use to be millions of them, planetsized graveminds etc. by the time we see them in game, they are shadows of their former selfs so we know the flood CAN be dealt with. With the endless, the forerunners only solution was to trap and bury them meaning there was a reason why that was the only course of action.

I feel like the endless are dangerous not because they’re immune to the halo rings firing, but because if they were infected by the flood then the flood would be immune to the halo rings firing.

@Specimen Delta not exactly, the flood has a very tiny biomass, they cause their food to do what they need but also degrade the bodies they control, the rings can't kill the flood itself, but they managed to break most of the gravemind's and food, leaving the flood stranded.
Something like the endless would represent a problem, gravemind's that can't be reduced and spacefaring capable bodies ready to take back the universe after a firing.

Dead game. Not even in Xbox top 10, barely 5,000 players on steam.... Why do anything DLC related with infinite. They've released forge, released a brower (even tho it's shit, lol), I think they've done enough with this turkey. Just move on completely from infinite. It's been a year and no one really cares. HALO Infinite was a lemon. Move on. They've need to go away for awhile, I'd like to not have anything HALO related for at least 5 years. Then totally reboot the franchise with a new developer with a brand new vision.

I think Microsoft should stand their ground in the Halo: The Endless issue. As you said, the trademark has already been established for quite awhile now and it makes sense for why it’s called that. If Amplitude wants to press the issue then Microsoft would probably have no problem winning that dispute as their resources are quite substantial and (in my opinion) they also have better grounds to keep the name as The Endless are a new faction that they’re going to bring into the light in terms of storytelling.
