@xXSwamplordXx It is nostalgia. We're experiencing a game we've played for over 20 years, now with so many new things. That's the fun part. Seeing how much more there is compared to the original. I agree Halo Infinite is underwhelming, but this wouldn't feel so fun if we haven't experienced Combat Evolved a hundred times before.

The six-wheels on the Warthog are because it's based off of a vehicle called the Aardvark from the cancelled Halo MMO.
Also, glad you gave the mod a shot with the new and improved Hornet! I remember playing an older version and it handled as well as flying a helicopter in GTA lmao real glad SOI fixed that up, it kicks ass now! This mod also has what's probably my favourite version of the Spiker. That thing SHREDS.

If I were to play games for fun I wouldnt be playing any because I suck at most. I play halo for the story and nothing else. So with 343 rebooting the franchise with infinite I have no real reason to stick around other than just staying up to date.

God, this makes me so sad, seeing the mans here doin some honest to god co-op. All I want to do is play Halo campaigns with my friends, but the imput lag... It's unbearable for anyone (I'm in US, homies in AU.). It's like rounding a corner to see 3-6 jackle snipers (halo 2 legendary) and forcing yourself to wait 2-4 seconds before you can react to them. I think that speaks for itself. I'm glad to see someone at least enjoying some co-op, wish I could be there, enjoy it man.

SPV3 is lightyears ahead of SPA3, but yeah, SPA3 is the best workshop campaign in my opinion right now. I was like "wtf" when you were going through combat revolved. Imo there is no point to combat revolved when SPA3 exists and no point to SPA3 when SPV3 exists... Unless you're just really bored out of your mind.

I am finally taking the time to play through the whole thing , The few times I tried as a kid I would always get so lost and frustrated. But I gotta say CE has a charm that can’t be replicated. I’m still getting acclimated to using energy pistols/rifles as a main. But the game itself is a lot better and more cohesive now that I’m older

Worth noting that SOI worked on SPV3 and was quite instrumental to the development as one of the main team members. He was working on this mod prior to joining SPV3, actually, and continued to tinker with it on the side before eventually finishing it after SPV3's main release.

@Mint Blitz For me personally I prefer Ruby’s Rebalanced because unlike a lot of CE mods it knows when to stop and strives to respect the look and feel of the original while still enhancing it.
As Halo CE is already my favourite game, I don’t really appreciate the drastic changes made in other mods and it means I’ll only ever play those once or twice before wanting to go back to the original. Ruby’s Rebalanced however is faithful enough to the point where it feels like what Bungie would have done if they had more time with CE which no other mod really replicates. This honestly makes it the definitive way to play CE for me and that’s saying something considering how much I love the original.
This isn’t me dunking on other CE mods mind you they all are still great and work a lot better for a video showcase but sometimes less is more.

@Mint Blitz What ruby did was think about the small problems with the original Halo CE sandbox and rebalance things with his take on what would work better. His main aim was to provide niches for each weapon to feel useful, as well as additional nuance to each one. For example, allowing the assault rifle to actually function in "short controlled bursts" to have accurate fire at longer ranges. He had an ethos and design goals when starting to make his mod, rather than just throwing in whatever he thought was cool.
Then he also took some of the cut content and things introduced in later games and implemented them in CE, but without feeling like they're just tacked on.
My favorite parts of his mod though are his environmental storytelling and extra/modified encounters that add to the experience of Halo CE, while feeling like part of the original game, instead of things added to it for that sake of "this thing is cool". There's a lot of cool hidden areas and secrets to find and a lot more presence from the UNSC forces with his additional marines and how they can commandeer vehicles in some sections of the game.
In total, his mod really feels like DLC to the original game instead of a mod. If I didn't know better and someone showed me his mod, I'd believe it was part of the original game.
