unless they basically copy halo 3 lobby and start adding community sharing and stop charging people crazy prices for armor Ill never play halo multiplayer and actually ever have fun again. and thats what is really sad. 15 years later and we dont even have the same level of base community features or armor customization we had before, sure make new cool armors and sell those sell cool ass skins of major npcs from the game and allow them to be customized but still give us skill based armors based on everything from before. Why milk us for assets you have already had made for free? You didnt remake the mk4 armor you didnt do shit you milked fans for a paycheck and i bet that 3k player base is starting to reflect that. I think multiple model options for the infected would be awesome. That way we could have a Iratus model, a Flood model (like Halo 4, best part of Halo 4 multiplayer IMO), and a color altered model (like all the other games).

Much rather have a Elite core or a Brute core. Heck even a Spartan II core for fun just to make fighting others more unique instead of some alternate universe battlepass quirky edge spartan cliche... Also a brute ai that take over spartans how pitiful is the UNSC now? Please I much rather take my spartan/friends and fight the banished through various skirmishes protecting colonies or exploring worlds than playing a tone down infection with that awful shotgun.

Other than Halo 4 and 2A, infection was never anything more than killing spartan to change their teams. Nothing biological, no flood. If it works like how Halo 3, Reach and 5 did it, I'd love to see a version where the Infected are AI possessed

I guess this is how they make Infection and still keep their 'Teen' rating. I'm not necessarily upset over the new game mode, I'm more upset how the Flood seem to be getting memory holed...
Imagine if the Necromorphs were removed from Dead Space...wouldn't people be sad with that, even if new interesting enemies were introduced? While the Flood aren't as important to Halo as the Necromorphs are to Dead Space, I'd say they are at least 50% of what makes the Halo narrative interesting. After all, the whole reason the Halo network was built, is BECAUSE the Flood exist. Without the Flood, you essentially have a whole lot of wasted worldbuilding.
Even if they don't show up in campaign, they should at least make a cameo in multiplayer...

I don't think they ever needed to provide a narrative reason for the Infection gamemode to exist. As far as I can tell, I'm pretty sure that was a trend that started with 343. However, I think the Brute AI version of Infection makes a lot more narrative sense than the Flood version of Infection from Halo 4. The Flood version was meant to be a War Games simulation of fighting the Flood, but it isn't very faithful to how the Flood actually behave in-universe because at the end of the day it was still just Spartans with Energy Swords. The Brute AI version of Infection provides a better reason why you'd be fighting against a mob of Spartans that grows with every kill, although that brings up the question of why can they only use Energy Swords, which isn't even a UNSC technology in the first place.

@Tpecky If Halo Infinite Multiplayer is canon to the lore, which I agree is just something they didn't have to do, then I have a feeling this event isn't going to revolve around something serious like the AI going out of control, especially since Iratus is an AI companion in multiplayer, and the multiplayer events so far have been occurring within the war games system. It'll probably be something like testing what Iratus is capable of, or letting Iratus have some fun in the War Games as a reward for cooperating. The last multiplayer event (and the only one we've really gotten so far) involved getting Iratus under control once already, and I think it would be pretty lame if they came up with a scenario that revolved around containing him again. In my opinion this is what would make the most sense, but since it is 343 we're dealing with, they probably won't do what makes the most sense.
