Unfortunately even if this update literally gave every big feature people wanted or the game needed, the game can never 100% match the success it would’ve had if it’s just released with the features/support it should’ve. I’m tired of halos only being above mediocre after years and being a secretly good time. The general public don’t care about halo anymore, they might’ve had they not bodged this game on launch. Both battlefield and cod flopped their launches and it was halos perfect chance to return, but no.
I grew up on this franchise, this game will hold a place in my heart whether I like it or not, the game isn’t lacking as much anymore but the player base is cuz people are tired of giving second chances. Loading times for certain game modes later on in the day is rough on console for me. Pair that with custom browser games failing to load 60% of the time makes it hard for me to stay engaged.

Bad skill matching, pc version still has issues, de sync still an issue, still no cross core armor compatibilty, still no grifball, still no assasinations. Still not reinstalling until pc compatibility, netcode and desync are addressed. Whats the point of slapping new content onto an unplayable mess of a game?

I love this game when it actually works. Being in Asia, I still cannot find any games at night which is usually when I play. The matchmaking is so bad, even with extended region selected it takes 5-10 minutes to find a game just to be put in a 300+ ping game while it would have taken it barely a few seconds if I could just manually select US region.
Other than SBMM and issues like this, S5 is awesome! I've been having so much fun. The new maps, especially the crystal caves is gorgeous!

Infinite will never feel complete until it introduces the "Super Fiesta Party" playlist. There is nothing more fun than getting randomly thrown into a match of Oddball/Strongholds/CTF/Slayer with random weapon loadouts. Me and my friends would play this playlist every day for YEARS on Halo 5 without ever growing tired of it.

And yes, it's true we have Husky Raid and Super Fiesta which is halfway there, but the matches aren't mixed. Husky Raid is only CTF, and Super Fiesta is only Slayer. It's the mix that makes it special. And Oddball with random weapons is just ridiculously fun.

Content wise, yes. With firefight coming and the new battlepass and event changes, im happy with them. Decided to reinstall the game and am actually having fun... could be cos I'm starting to try and contain my rage and not get mad by people better then me lol. But it feels nice to come back. Plus like the flood armor... haven't brought any but I do like it and honestly am tempted at some point. Though you can't use cat ears on the helmet, massive letdown... lmao.
The only thing I wish they would change is being able to buy individual pieces cos i really wanna buy the sniper model... or make credits more earnable at a slower rate, like maybe with the weekly reward, give the cosmetic reward and a small amount if credits so there's a reason to kind of do the challenges. Plus there are other pieces I would want to buy, like the blossom effect and again, the flood armor

I would say not yet. Once firefight gets added, yes, Season 5 will put Infinite in an actually good spot, until then it feels a little bit like we're in a limbo state

Multi-Team is a MUST for me. It was one of my favorite modes in reach bar Invasion and BTB. If it comes back it will be my most played mode for sure

It’s helped a lot at the minimum. I’ve convinced my friend who has never played a halo game before to install and play and he’s enjoying it at the moment and I’ve also convinced my brother who I grew up playing H3, reach, HW1, H3 ODST, H4 and H5 with to reinstall Infinite.

I love all the content Season 5 has brought up to the game, and im looking for the rest that's coming. Sadly, not all the coatings are available for crosscore, not even all premium ones have that compatibility, like for example the coating 'Vermillion Fire' has crosscore usage but not the coating 'Temple Grounds' and both are premium. I wish that at launch of Season 5, would have been nice that all the campaign coatings you can unlock through it would have been crosscore compatible, that would have increased the value for the campaign.

I've told myself that I'll wait till S6, and I'll hold to that. Mostly for expanded cross core, but also just for that extra bit of a polish. I was very disappointed when this was released, but I'm looking forward to playing again

The desync and sbmm is so ridiculous still. I feel very strongly about the terrible netcode, as getting killed behind walls and having every kill happening at least one second after you shot the guy is so disorienting and frustrating. If 343 fixes that, I truly feel the game will be amazing

to me its not about what the state of the game is now, from what ive seen it hasnt improved pretty much at all. but the real thing is the fact that after 2 years you have to ask "did __ save halo?" because that means the game has been bad for that long. and i do very much think the game has been underwhelming and lacking as well as being very paywall heavy. i havent played in a year because of all that and i will not be playing infinite ever again because i dont trust 343 with my time, i personally have too much other stuff to do than play a game thats mid at its absolute best.

Eh, infinite has always been good, just always lacking content, but its great season 4 and 5 have vastly added to the pile of content. I just knew from the moment I played, infinite had something special, its artstyle, gameplay just work so well and feels like halo.....but how the business side just handled content, and everything happening at 343....just kinda put the game on ice for a bit until these last few months. "Halo will be truly saved when yx happens, or whatever" nuh halo is halo, best if we forget 4 and 5 existed and think infinite is actually halo 4....which actually makes no sense 😅

Game is ok right now in my opinion.
-Needs more than 32 spawned AI. It also needs to stop crashing. I can't make any AI maps without crashing after about 20 minutes, on both PC and Xbox series X. PC has a 10 minute loading screen on launch, too. That also really sucks.
-Still waiting for firefight, they already said something about FF KOTH, but apparently we have to rely on leakers to see that classic FF is also coming. That should probably stop sooner than later. If firefight only has 32 AI at once, I'll be sad, because that's less than even Halo 4 had all at one time in spartan ops, and less than Halo Reach's firefight. It's also less than certain moments in Infinite's campaign itself. With how much faster Infinite is, I hope it isn't just harder enemies that make FF difficult.
-As for multiplayer, it's still near impossible to have fun for more than a couple minutes at a time because of how sweaty every game is. I remember there was something about an AI being able to predict all the stats your matches with 90+% accuracy, right? That's messed up, and shouldn't happen.
-There should be a slow, but free way to earn credits. Like 10 credits per match based on time, or 10 credits per challenge completed. That way it isn't too fast, but if you save up credits by playing the game regularly for a long time, you'd be rewarded and could theoretically earn everything in game, the way Halo always should've been.
For a ten-year plan, this game has very little story content. The campaign was kinda trash, but if we'd just stuck to the 3-year-release model from the past, after Halo 5 we'd have 2 Halo games by now, and looking at a third. Campaign would be a focus instead of a sidenote, like it is in Infinite. I'm still salty about that, and I think the campaign would've been better if it finished the Reclaimer saga, or had us play through the data echoes and stuff Chief explains in game. I really hope we at least get some kind of DLC or side-game in the next couple years.

For me, the two big things are loosening SBMM in social playlists, and fixing Theatre. In particular, while a relatively minor experience for many players, Theatre as a unit is objectively busted and requires severe bugfixing. It's the one part of the game I would argue is nowhere near even a launch state.

Multiplayer-wise, the game is in a good state. Campaign, however, is in a bad state. My friends and I aren't as competitive as we used to be. Good campaign content is what I want to see worked on. Firefight is great for PvE lifespan. But a new campaign-drop with the option to play it through linear chapters would do wonders. No disrespect to the open world concept, but after playing through it, it would be nice to rifle through chapters like old games. I thought they billed Infinite as a ten-year project. If that's the case, I hope they have more story missions in mind for us. I also haven't forgotten about split-screen. My dad and I used to play Halo a lot, but without split-screen, that's just not happening. : /

Beat the campaign on legendary (loved it), but stopped mp after 2 weeks of 0 content. Came back fro the first time, and I've had so much fun. BUT, the custom browser is so broken. I spent 30 minutes trying to join a game. I didn't even know how to leave my fireteam, because it was buried somewhere in the UI. It was such a horrible experience. I've been playing every day tho since Season 5, cuse firefight customs is sooooooooooooooo fun.

Season 5 specifically? Probably not. It's a series of good decisions that 343 has implemented, Season 5 just seems to be a tipping point for a lot of people, if they keep it up I think it could be considered saved.

There is FACTUALLY nothing wrong with skill based matchmaking. This isnt opinion. I have data to prove it, sceen shots, i checked. Its IN YOUR HEAD. A placebo! I checked my team after every match, i checked theres, i played tons of games.

Almost 2 years since launch, and things have greatly improved, but Halo is still not quite "back" in the grand scheme of gaming. What I'd like to see from 343 in the future are to bring more staple modes from previous titles to Infinite (Assault, Juggernaut, VIP, etc.), implement MCC's match composer into the game, overhaul the shop so we can purchase individual items instead of having to overpay for a bundle filled with other things you're not gonna use, and let the players adjust their MM skill base as they please.
This season has renewed interest in the game, but now 343 has to strike while the iron is hot if they don't want to fumble their momentum away.

Not really. The shock rifle is just really good but only with headshots. I use it as much as possible. It's just easy to run yourself straight in the bullseye of the sight. Imo though. It is more cheesy than the sniper though. Shock rifle you have a like .5 of a second to correct the head shot. Sniper. If it misses. It misses. I love the shock rifle but it's definitely a cheese gun.

I'm back on Halo Infinite for the first time since season 1 part II, and as much as i love the game, I'm really really annoyed because it's seams I just cannot find ranked match, it's really frustrating. On top of that I still have a lot of UI loading bugs and the game takes maybe 4 to 5 min load each time! I love the new progression system, all the battle passes I have to grind for, custom games with forgable AI but, those issues I mentionned really need to be fixed! Does anyone have the same problems?

Mint, please make a video formally requesting 343 to remove SBMM. They're doing a great job lately but it's still holding back an otherwise awesome game at this point.

Bring back the classic shotty, bulldog is shite. Bring back the older guns; SAW, railgun, spartan laser, guass warthog. Banished weapons are shite as well. Get rid of the ravager for example. Bring more covenant weapons. Like the beam rifle. WHERE ARE ASSASSINATIONS!?!?!?!? DONT LIKE THEM TOGGLE OFF. we need a campaign dlc story missions. The way it ended was complete bullshit. Game is definitely in the best state its been in, however there are two problems that still persist. the blatant sbmm deciding matches for you and the almost unusable customs browser

343 has a unique ability to take 2 steps forward while also taking 3 steps back. All this is great but they also restricted the new ffa Playlist from being played with friends which makes it useless and the new Mk V armor is going to be a paid cosmetic, terrible

I felt Halo Infinite was saved with season 4, season 3 was when it started picking up its pace to the right direction. Season 5 feels like we just hit a slam dunk and I'm all for it. I'm glad the game is finally receiving positive reception that it deserves

The fact they made helmets Cross core, I feel they’ll definitely add cross core armor pieces in the long future. It took them a while to get this right for the helmets and some of the samurai helms actually cut through some of the armors. Halo future looks good, as Cronk usually says, oh yea, it’s all coming together

Season 5 is fantastic, but the game isn't saved until all the features of previous Halo games are in Halo Infinite, and customization is fully unlocked with a complete color wheel.
Also, bring back the 1-50 ranking system in a separate ranked playlist. We need ranked BR slayer, ranked Bandit EVO, ranked AR's and Magnums there is WAY too little ranked content in this game.

Not a word on matchmaking wich is completly destroying the fun i could have in the game, every game is a 1v4, cant do a single game without having to try like i'm playing the world cup and it's constent defeat all day. I would play halo non stop all day if i could ! But for my mental health sake i just cant..

I'm still fan boying over Invasion in Halo Reach, one of my biggest fantasies for next season is the release of playable elites with the game mode Invasion to give us objective based gamemodes that we progressively go through. This game mode is the perfect introduction of the playable elites with the use of the new AI enemies that can assist us in our battle. I don't know if I see the gamemode in rose tinted glasses but it was one of most favorite and memorable times playing halo. What did you guys think of invasion and what do you guys think about this idea?

A little bit of a nit-picky thing, but I think it would be cool if we could save our own armor kits for cores, I have like 3 mental presets for the Mark V alone and it would be cool if I could just choose my ODST fit without having to go through remaking the whole thing again that would be pretty cool.
