I have a theory about that Elite they focus on. It is an Arbiter, but not Thel. It is the Arbiter before Thel. As stated in Halo 2, Arbiters are "The vanguard of the Great Journey. Each created and destroyed in times of extraordinary crisis." Plus, these guys had to do something pretty bad in order to become Arbiter in the 1st place. This guy may have been on the planet in the Season 1 finale, where the Covenant tried and failed to find Halo, but the Prophets were also put in danger of being killed or captured by Silver Team. Not as bad as losing a Halo, like Thel, but still pretty bad.
So, the prophets make one of the surviving Elites an Arbiter and put him at the forefront of the Reach invasion. Still helping the Great Journey, but somewhere he has a good chance of being killed. During the season, he becomes something of a nemesis to Chief, but Chief kills him by the end of the season, opening the position of Arbiter to Thel in the future.
Just something I thought up after watching the video. Let me know what you think of this idea.

Btw, one thing I noticed was if the elite who gets the most screen time is an arbiter. Then it's not Thel Vadam cz he only becomes the arbiter after Halo's destruction. So I guess they're using this arbiter to perhaps build up chief's reputation.

I hope Joseph Berez doesn't become Foe Hammer; as the charcter is supposed to be Black. Now I don't really agree with the race swapping of Captain Keyes, and Miranda. As I remember when I first saw the casting for Keyes o thought the guy could be better served as playing Seargeant Johnson.
Halo has always been a more progressive gaming series; I'd rather see new charcter instead of race swapped ones. But I really hope Foe Hammer stays black, especially considering how crucial she was in the first Halo game.

Its looking better but I have a few critiques also:
I loved that shot of the carriers floating up from the clouds it looks cool and like sharks swimming thru water. But why? Why are they coming from under the clouds? If they're attacking, they should be floating down thru the clouds and honestly if they showed that it would make it feel even more significant having these towering intimidating ships drop down thru the sky at a nice low angle shot. Thats basic Media Studios techniques 101 hell even the Halo Reach live action trailer showed this.
The glassing beams are a cool detail but they've failed to show how big they actually were?? These beams are the size of a tent or about 5 humans wide lol. If that were the case then it would take years to glass a planet completely.
My biggest grip is the scene of what appears to be Chief covering a human from an attack that is most likely a beam? If so the Spartan armor would never be able to survive that beam let alone protect a human from the radiation that close.
The shot of Chief out of his armor makes him look more 'human' so once again they're obviously taking a step away from the actual lore making him less like a machine and showing him out of armor which is meh.
The shot of the 4 marines shooting an elite was horrifying and depicts the fear perfectly but this scares me how NONE of the bullets affected the elite again? Marines were able to kill elites, it was difficult but possible. Season 1 failed to show this and had rebels shooting elites with a turret doing nothing then suddenly Chief used it and insta killed them, I really hope they dont do that again this season because thats just terrible world building.
Loved the shot of the Halo ring and I agree its probably gonna be at the very end of the season, personally I really hope they don't rush thru the Reach story in 1 season because that's just gonna feel really rushed as 8 episodes really isn't enough, even Halo Reach struggled to tell the full story in its 8hours of story due to having so much cut content. Also it feels kinda weird jumping straight to the fall of Reach? Like we were only just introduced to Spartans in season 1 now they will need to introduce spartan 3's? I think your right we should take this entire show with a grain of salt as 343 seems to changing the story that we know pretty significantly.

I feel like people are in denial for being excited about this. I am in the Star Wars fandom, so I've experienced disappointment after disappointment, and so I know what denial feels like. I am only now accepting that Star Wars will never be the same. In the video games, that is who we are, the player (which is in first person), but that doesn't mean the show HAS to follow certain things established from the games exactly. We view the master chief this time in third person, so he is his own character this time around.

That they’re gonna try to retcon it so that Halsey also joins them on madrigal atleast to merge the stories. I never got into the show, but really if Cheif fight Atriox in the end. That doesn't seem like something that could of maybe kinda happened in the game story. I just mean like they could of meet maybe before he was the leader of the Baneshed

The thing I'm looking forward the most about this season is the fall of reach, and I want it to last at least 3 episodes or most of the season, since in the lore the fall of reach lasted about a month.

It's kinda already ruined by the first season unless they retcon it. I normally hate retcons, but this is a scenario where the foundation is FUBAR and there's really nothing they can do to save it. The events of the first season will always loom in the background. We need something else.

They should've just made it a whole different series and pretended the first season never happened while keeping most of the actors, and replacing the helmet-fearing actor that plays chief.
