It’s helpful but not a game changer. Similar to the drop wall, it’ll get you out of some scraps, but isn’t going to save you from a well placed rocket or sniper round.

This thing, even as a concept, is insanely OP. I still think it has one more property than it should. Take off one of either the stick ability, the ability to repair vehicles, or the shield recharge, and it becomes much more manageable. As someone who usually only has power equips used on me and not by me, I'm probably gonna stick to firefight while this thing is still fresh out of the oven.

I don’t know how popular or unpopular this opinion is but I think they should bring back blue and red for the teams instead of the highlight thing, and also remove the target indicators above players heads since you can just kill people through trees and foliage like this moment lol 0:35.

I feel like being able to toss it on a vehicle glowing red about to explode is pretty cheesy. It's bad enough you 'destroy' a vehicle now and the occupants can just hop out unscathed, now the vehicle can be fully repaired.

I wonder if they'll bring back the Spartan Laser now? The argument before was that vehicles were so weak, you didn't need it/it was an unnecessary weapon. The Spartan Laser is its own beast and the Skewer can't quite compare, so it would be nice to see a weapon we'd had for at least 3 or 4 games make a return finally. Still waiting on the OG weapons to make a return as well.

Oh boy, can't wait to be spawn camped by the wasp even harder now. This equipment would be a great addition if it wasn't for the terrible vehicle balance. The banshee is still gonna get one shot most of the time while the wasp is gonna be unkillable. And shock weapons have essentially rendered all other vehicles unless against anyone that has one.
This game would be so much more fun if Dynamo grenades were completely removed, and if the wasps health ot armor against small arms fire was nerfed.

I’ve only played firefight this week, but the Repair Field has been a lot of fun to use in it. Grab a warthog, grab the repair field, and you’re good to go on the turret for pretty much the whole match

You can also bring a vehicle back from the dead with it FYI. Used it in Firefight last night and so many times I would throw it on the scrap pieces of a blown up Warthog and it made it appear fully brand new. Pretty helpful!

They should make the Regenerator last longer if its not deployed to a vehicle. If its on a vehicle, it should work long enough to fix the vehicle ad heal whomever is wihin distance then disappear, maybe 5 seconds ?

I only really have an issue with the field's visibility. It is nowhere near as obvious as H3's regenerator. H3's was super visible and obvious where the edges of the field were. This one is a little too faint to me. If they could make it a little less transparent maybe...

This is gonna' be a hot-take: but when you talk about equipment in Halo, you talk about it from the very "hardcore" perspective, and I just don't see Halo as a hardcore competitive game. I prefer when Halo is more fun and casual, and I HATE this new era of "Halo is 110% sweaty, git gud". When I see this equpiment, all I think is, "That equipment sounds balanced and fun, and like it's more thought out than previous iterations, I'm glad they did something that's not too powerful, but not too weak in 99% of all use cases." When YOU talk about it, it's, "If there wasn't a cooldown, you could use it like this, when you're in a tough spot, just exploit it like this." It mostly makes it feel like - yeah - this isn't really something you're aiming at casuals about, or advocating for casuals about. Making vehicles HARDER to kill sucks. Real, real bad. Having ONLY one-shot weapons as options to kill vehicles if the Repair Field is present is awful. The idea that spamming 2 Repair Fields can make you nearly immortal for a period is awful.

I think the UI + audio should give a clearer indicator for a) when you are in range of the repair field and b) when it expires. In H3, there was no question bc it would coat your whole screen in green. Not saying it needs to be the same solution, but something in between would be nice. Also, not a fan of the choppy increments of the shields/health regenerating. I think it should be a smooth animation

youre definitely basing this off of people you encounter who just dont know how to use vehicles at all if you think it's easy to counter them in infinite. i would like you to tell me, what, exactly, you're meant to do to defeat one single man in one single ghost that ISNT "throw a shock grenade", "grapple", or "rocket". what if thats not on the map? what, are you supposed to jack them? shoot at the spartan and headshot them from behind? great ideas, except you've forgotten that you can only do that if the player driving begs you to. anyone slightly competent can literally just press backwards on their stick and face you and those options cease to exist entirely. ok, so maybe if you have 3 guys all focusing on the one single ghost AND you grant that those three have good coordination, MAYBE just fucking MAYBE one of them will be able to close in and jack without being splattered to oblivion because THEY walked INTO the ghost slightly drifting to the side, but thats STILL a fucking MAYBE. you WILL be killed from about 7 shots out of that thing. they're plenty overpowered as is guy.

I think it honestly comes down to the skill of the lobby. Some games we shred vehicles easily, other times they put players through meat grinders.
They are easy to counter in sandbox, but ultimately depends on the skill of whomever is in the vehicle versus the user of the required small arm to counter it.

I agree with ya. Halo 3 is always gonna be a classic, but is definitely aged and clunky. SBMM has not impacted my fun whatsoever. I still get to match up with people of various ranks, skill levels, and have some games where I’m doing great, and others that I’m challenged.
