The only reason I'm returning to S2 is that 2nd trailer opening with chief on the pelican and HIS HELMET ON just staring at the war. The music in that moment and the helmet just like gave me shocks through my entire body. Depending on how they execute that scene, it might beat Halo 2's jump.

Imagine playing halo since the start, since the beginning and you as the master have your helmet off, that doesn’t make any sense to me or to anyone at all. WE ARE THE MASTER CHIEF. That’s the whole point of him keeping that helmet on it makes us step into the armour of master chief and the best part is that Steve downes, Jen Taylor, Keith David and all these characters we know and love does the most amazing voice acting and you can feel those emotions in the characters without seeing they’re faces.

An early theme of the series was blurring the lines between man and machine with the Spartan program. If I recall correctly, early Spartans were confused to be machines in the lore which added credibility that Spartans can't die. Allowing so much freedom to show John's face and his emotions limits the effectiveness of painting the Spartan program as deeply morally flawed. It was such a dark part of human history that should be ostracized, otherwise the plot where Halsey is treated as a criminal falls apart.

My problem with this TV show is that they are taking far to many liberties with the "Halo" franchise The writers and actors think Halo starts with Combat Evolved. No background no history. "The Fall of Reach" by Eric Nyland is the only prequel Halo needed not this weird convoluted love story with characters that never existed.

A huge Halo Fan. Ive played every Halo and read somr of the books, Ghost of Onyx is my favorite book. I couldn't bring myself to finish season One, I hated it. It would embrace Halo for a scene then quickly water down to whatever this is. Whoever is in charge of this series I want them know they are incompetent and clearly dont care. I will not be watching Season 2. Forgive me but I really hope it flops. Halo and its core fans should not take part and show them how much of a failure it is. Just do it right its not that hard you literally have a palthera of lore to work with

Halo as a setting, both in official and fan-made content, has pretty thoroughly proven that it doesn't take a human face to be able to write and convey an emotionally impactful story, so this is a really bad take to still see come out of the production of this tv show.

As a die hard Halo fan I think the helmet issue is fine. Yes it’s a big big part of his character and I do prefer it on, but I’m fine with it. People seriously need to relax and stop complaining. It’s still a good show for the halo fans and yet people are mad about the helmet. They aren’t “killing halo”. The TV show isn’t cannon, the show is its own thing so big deal if the helmet isn’t always on. Don’t like it? Don’t watch it.

This show is NOT worth watching. Its spits in the face of the hard work that went into making the games and the franchise. Master Chief showed so much emotion in the games. Look at the scene in Halo Infinite when he sits down to talk to the pilot, or Halo 3 when he held Johnson in his arms as he was dying. That’s powerful stuff. At this point, you can write about a living faceless toaster with a personality and do better than this show. It’s already bad enough the show is possibly based on a rejected script.

He's not completely wrong, if the series were to show Chief's face only sometimes, okay, fine, you can understand, BUT IT'S ALL THE TIME WITHOUT A HELMET AND EVEN WITHOUT ARMOR, besides, Halo already has more than 20 years, it already has a very well-established fan base so the show's audience would work perfectly if it pleased the fans, it could easily have a good number of seasons, but it seems like they don't care about the fan, they are doing it anyway and that's it. Using references to the Halo universe, this decision is terrible, it's even similar to what Netflix did with The Witcher.

I remember a while back, I think a director or someone in charge of making a video game live action show said, "who would want to watch something that they just sat through and played?" .. The answer is, the fans, duh. Its the reason why those who enjoyed a series enjoys it. Sure, you can add some things to fill in the blanks here and there, but keeping close to what you are trying to recreate is what alot if not all fans are looking for. A "what-if" story using someone as iconic as chief isn't going to going to go well with fans. Even if it is a "starting" point for those just getting into it, then those who got interested go to see what they've missed are going to go, "WTF"

I personally think they need to stop making film or show adaptations of video game franchises until they learn to stop giving it's respective fanbase the finger and respect the pre-established lore. Especially a franchise like Halo. If they want to appeal to a broader audience, they need to start taking themselves seriously by taking US seriously! WE are the FIRST people who will market it to friends and family if it is actually worth watching in the first place. They just gave us a triple middle finger by dissing us, 20+ years of established lore, and all of the people who MADE Halo what it even IS today. And don't Forget 13 Incredible Seasons of Red VS Blue 90% of the characters never show there face and your are still able to emotionally connect with each of them. Even the seasons afterwards that I watched anyway I was still able to emotionally connect with them. Caboose finally being able to say goodbye Church still made me tear up even if the rest of the season wasn't that good.

It's a smokescreen. As with any actor who plays a masked character, they want the money and fame from being classed as "actor" and not a voice actor. That's why actors push so hard to get their faces seen. Otherwise, they may get paid lower and be treated "like a shudders voice actor..." I jest, but it's true that the industry treats voice actors horrid compared to live action counterparts. Less we forget that rockstar alienated 4 voice actors in their GTA games so they didn't come back, or how the long time voice of solid snake got axed before the final 2 games. Ignore Pablo's excuses. Like every bad show made, it's an excuse to cover for 3 things that were more important to them. Money, Ego and covering their own asses.
