what I got from that shatter is that it has two separate hitboxes: the shockwave starts from your feet and the hammer is a little ahead and does the 250 dmg with knockdown but without traveling. bowie blocked the shockwave but was close enough to get caught in the hammer hitbox

In the first shatter, from flats perspective the shield was down but from bowie's perspective the shield was up for a few miliseconds already. Must be a latency issue.

Think the hammer part of shatter went over shield but maybe shock wave originates from center of your model? Could explain how you hit him past shield but your body was behind the shield and shock didnt go through. Weird Rein interaction.

Shield takes so much longer to register server side than client side (also a problem with other shield characters)
I have 40ms ping.
None of this should be happening.

9:05 when flats pulls up the for the milisecond you can see all the stats they support diff. Bownie makes up for the damage diff between the dps but he couldn't make up for lack of healing. Also not sure if it was just becuase it clips but looks like brownie was barely getting heals

Not the right title for this video. Bowie was oozing Bronze Rein energy this game. Multiple failed shatters, caught out multiple times, toxic, whining, something bad happens "i don't even care dude" but let me cry about it for 5 mins. Play in bronze for a day and you'll hear word for word "I killed 4 but all my teammates died? my team sucks" maybe you're part of the problem dipshit. I've seen him play well before, but you're not gonna play perfect every game, part of being a good competitor is knowing how to deal with that and step 1 is not flaming your team. @TMM It wasn´t that. From Bowie´s perspective, he was making a solid stand defending the edge of the objective. He saw a good non-commital pin opportunity on the sojourn and took it, killing her, then saw Flat going for a backline pin, and instead of chasing after him without a pin of his own, he mirrored the play of going after the enemy backline since that would have made a 1v3 vs 1v4 on his team´s favor (according to him, I assume), taking another 2 kills before dying. Something that would(n´t) have been worth except his entire backline was somehow dead.
Why? Because turns out that all that while, Flat´s junkrat jumpscare-oneshot the half-hp junkrat looking for a health kit, flank-full-combo´ed the sojourn, tried to kill the lucio who fled and stayed behind Bowie, and 1v1´ed the panicking dartless ana (thanks to Flat´s pin attempt), all while no one at any time informed Bowie of what was going on (or at least it seems that way, as Bowie played and (trash)talked as if he was clueless of it all).
Sure, going after the enemy backline was a mistake since deaths mattered more than kills because of respawn distances, and he could have at least looked behind him to see why Flats was doing such a pin; but his real mistake was not keeping tabs on the top-right corner for kill confirms. Yet even if he did that, that there wasn´t much he could have done about it: the dps died too quickly and ana was too far away to save her.
Then again, while the dps, comm and mental diff was big, he also had (or rather made) a tank diff with his own toxic mindset and worse choices of pins and shatters since the start. This game had a team diff through and through.
Why? Im sort of new to the game(playing since free to play), why the pre-emptive swinging like at 0:57? i play rein quite a bit and never do this really

If they choose to rush in or try to push past they will catch at least one swing in while walking up to him. Also helps a lot if there is another rein and they want to take that corner from you and duel because you want to get your first swing in before the other rein can, building your ult faster than the other rein will.

there is nothing wrong with doing that. Swinging your hammer does not decrease or increase your movement or have any effect really. Since there is a chance where someone could just walk infront of your hammer randomly.
