I like how they nerfed hog personally. I like the added power in his gun. He may be a touch on the weak side, but not dumpstered by any means. Hopefully his rework will be the AOE damage mitigation for his breather from that experimental patch. Then he’ll be in good shape.

I know Cyx fanbase will hate any other content creator when given the chance, so this might not be the best place to bring this up, but Flats was the one who suggested they lower the cd of spin and throw on Orisa and they actually listened to him. I like Flats, i think hes cool, and the hate he gets is completely overblown. But that was such a stupid change to her kit. His reasoning was that she needed to always feel like she was doing something, but SHE HAS A LONG RANGE GUN. She can just SHOOT. Shes not like roadhogs scrap gun thats super inconsistent at mid-range, her gun is insanely good at close, mid, and long (even moreso with the range buff they gave it). Shes not like rein whos a sitting duck when he doesnt have cooldowns. Why he thought that was a good idea, even tho Orisa wasn’t as great back then, boggle my mind. This wasn’t alpha Orisa. Or her at the beginning. It was after a few initial buffs. And then he was also upset they nerfed the damage of the spear. Imagine if it still did 130 or whatever tf it did before

Hog is more consistent and less 1 shot kill and run. It's an adjustment but makes everyone more playable. Orisa... maybe longer cool downs? She's damn near invincible with just 1 support on hand.
A small sojourn nerf that would help a lot. Reduce her mobility. Take away the super jump out of slide. That shit is bananas and makes her a damn nightmare for anything back line that uses corners.

I don’t know why people are complaining about the hog nerfs I’m sorry but a one shot on a tank is horrendous his hook was literally better than doom fist ult and the thing is he could always do that from a safe position while someone like doom would have to get a charged punch first and literally launch himself into the enemy team another example is orissa spear while it can be a one shot combo like hog without putting herself into a bad situation she has to hit her shots after, even then at least the person the spear hits doesn’t come directly into your team nerfed hook still does like 70% of most characters health you now just have to follow up after and they still end up in your team

@Donkeydorf Yt I'm inclined to agree, but at the same time. I believe they should just adjust suzu. Make it 15 seconds, and give it a smaller splash. It's a very good ability and the only answer to anti heals, so it should stay, but not how it currently is. Maybe remove the invincible frames. All I know is that hog is not in a good place now, and he personally was where he should have been before. Not meta, but not a throw pick.

It's only going to get worse if we continue to take damage away. I don't want to have 30 minute games because nothing fucking dies.

A good orisa will simply focus your supports which in turn makes you lose healing and the fight most of the time. I can imagine that a bronze orisa doesn’t know that but anywhere plat+ they just ignore your team and go for your supports

The copium is high with this one, believe me, as a Hog player I get it, but its just easier to accept he's dead and move on. Like with a Mercy pocket any character can feel better than they actually are, and you were getting pocketed ALOT. Just for example Ashe is an ok DPS, but with a Mercy pocket she is insanely good, and as we all know Soujrn goes from being broken to crazy broken.
That being said though, if they give Hog a new identity with an actually good replacement mechanic to the one shot combo, he could become viable in season 3.

It's similar to what they did back in Overwatch 1. Release hog with a hook that can pull from behind walls and a gun that shreds pretty much anything. A few seasons later they nerfed hog making him almost useless for many seasons to come. Which was so frustrating for me, a hog main, to play other tanks I would have never chosen if not because I wanted to win in ranked.
Honestly the moment I read about this nerf I realized this game isn't it for me and uninstalled it for good.

@Hassan Dabo Her biggest strength is armor. Armor is useless if you don't shoot it. She has to be somewhat of a threat or you could completely ignore her. Spear is her one chance to kill a support. But its not hard to avoid if you're looking for it.

At this point I just find hog extremely infuriating to play. In this game you had so many times where pre nerf you would have gotten the kill. You could argue they didn't care as much about getting hooked because of the nerf, but that just kinda proves the point. I hate that a pocketed DPS can just stand in my face sometimes without any fear. I hope the "soft rework" makes him fun for me again.

If the solution to everything was “just get good”, we would never have any balance changes and we’d still be playing goats in open queue. Sometimes, the characters aren’t balanced, so if players on both teams are equally “good”, one will have an advantage because their character is meta/OP. You can say counter picks are a major part of the game, but you shouldn’t be forced into picking 1-2 heroes out of a dozen because those are the only viable options if you want to win.

Dva was not very good last patch, nobody was playing her because of that. She is a "counter" to hog because she can defense matrix his oneshot, but if Dva goes for a quick dive and Hog takes advantage of that he could still just get free kills.

When I play hog who I have maimed for 3 years might I add it feals like I can’t play him cause there is always going to be an orisa, reaper, or Ana on the other team, it’s frustrating cause in ow 1 I just needed to worry about Ana but now I need to worry about 3 characters. I can’t even go my main anymore

@Silvercloud did you even read my comment? When did i say you should use your abilities every single time on hog as soon as your cooldown is off?
You timing needs to be decent as well both arr very useless when your team can't shoot the hog or when their kiriko has her E.
Also i mentioned to play out of hook range. This really isn't hard and you can easely use your abilities to protect yourself from genji. Idealy your team kills him or he just goes back or to a healthpack to heal up. By that time at least one of your abilities is usable again for the hog.
A genji who focuses you on ana really is not a reason not to be able to use at least one of your cooldowns on hog.

@Aj no doom mains get the bad end of the stick everytime. Only tank that takes skill yet still gets nerfed after being the worst character in the game all of season 1.

@RAGE_TV he’s definitely not the only one that takes skill ball and junker queen take a bunch of skill too but as a doom main myself the nerfs were devastating and unfair especially when it was hard for people to get value out of him even with buffs

@DegenSten Agreed, i've been talking about this since before OW2 release but I believe tanks will either be OP or worthless. There isn't a middle ground with 1 tank on the team.
