I like the idea of a support that can anchor the team sending them a lifeline that they can use to retreat kind of like Thresh from LoL. Basically ways to have a mobility support that doesn't just speed boost.

Honestly, the only thing I can think of that makes sense for a new Support is the ability to heal people through or around walls. It's too difficult to keep out of position heroes alive.

Honestly what I’d like to see is a support with single target speed boost. Like the support attaches a tether to a teammate and while it’s attached both the support and who it’s attached to has a movement speed boost.
Speed boost is such a ubiquitously useful mechanic that I feel like it heavily limits variety by having Lucio be the only character with non-ult access to it.
And frankly I’d like a support that can be used for speed boosting for one teammate, since many times you might wanna be using a speed boost but you’re only really doing it for one teammate. For example, your team comp might have damage that are fine without a lucio boost and generally play at range or high ground, but your tank is like a rein who greatly benefits from speed boost. In that instance you’re limiting yourself and the way your team can play because if you wanna give the rein some speed then you gotta play Lucio, which means your damage either have to forgo any help from one of their two supports, or the team HAS to be stacked up on each other.
A single target support allows you to pocket speed boost someone, while allowing the support to still have options for healing beyond an AoE, allowing teammates you’re not worried about giving a speed boost to to still benefit from your healing. It also means more aggressive and active strats/comps can exist without borderline necessitating Lucio in them.

What if their ult was like a respawn point. Like their respawn time is SLIGHTLY shortened and they drop a destroyable teleporter esq respawn point for their team. Imagine a support that heals through walls, or has a trap like ability for when they get dove like a genji deflect or a bsorb like sigma. A totem support that can heal in areas and their ult is a summon like Bob. A omnic anthro that goes full animal mode for a sci-fi druid. So many options.

I mean I feel like it’s pretty obvious. (Could def be wrong) but if the og Overwatch community remembers back when Doomfist was first teased. Way back in the day. One of the features rumored was he was going to be able to “punch, throw, lift” teammates into points of the map they couldn’t reach. Certain high grounds. Etc. like a Zarya for example. Someone with no mobility and bring a new mechanic to the game. Turned out that’s want the case. And this was something that the fan base at the time really got their hopes up for including mine. Never happened. So this seems like it’s finally the time. And it’s also in a support role. Which makes way more sense than a tank role having it.

One thought I have had is a support healer who can give healing effects too other players. This can be done as an ultimate via something like a.deployable health station. The character drops it creating a healing aura like Lucios, except that by interacting with the station (like with Symmetras teleporter) both the hero and any ally pick it up and gain the healing aura for the stations duration. They can move around like normal but provide support as well, allowing any character (even flyers or fast moving tanks) to briefly become healers too.

For me I would love them to add like mini story modes for the characters. Where you maybe have to do a couple of missions in there story line. Just so you can learn more about the characters in game and enjoy there stories
