Two options:
1.We start work on bug fixes on the map when it goes out (hopefully next weekend) and bigger and better versions(new features, Ashlands stuff when Ashlands comes out,etc.) or
2. I work on a video series about the nerdy side of the development.

Ive played quite a bit of Valheim myself and 100% believe that this is exactly what is needed by the community. i really hope some streamers come back to the game and will show off and really enjoy the story telling you are attempting. All of the previews really have fans of the game like me in anticipation for what you guys have built. Steamers and influencers need to help get the adventure map to get noticed by a greater audience.

I have been following this project quite a while and it looks awesome, good job! I still have on concern thou, I am not sure , you mentioned on video that buildings are optimized but still how much your cities/amazing locations causes FPS drops, not sure if big buildings can be somehow made static objects in Valheim or something. Still good and work keep it coming , I wanna see how this amazing project will come to it's glorious end!

2. Download the microsoft version of Valheim on a pc and log into your microsoft account. Then add the world download to the cloud and it will be available on your console.

How would you do bug fixes after release of the world file ? Without re-releasing the world file again ? Hence then having to start the world as a new file again ? Which would mean the same after Ashlands release ?

@@9byte Not a bad size at all.. my current ded serv world file with 3 of us is about 65MB ...unzipped. lol and thats with 70% of the game fog still present, and yet we have completed the bosses. Now we just live there and uncovering is our mission. lol I suppose Ashlands we'll create a new world for it, and just blueprint over all our builds. to make it feel like home. lol

Yes we would have to re release the world file. Player location is saved by seed and loot and enemies would reset at locations but you dont have that much loot so you would just log out with your loot on your character and then the locations resetting wouldn't matter because you dont go back to most of them. Yes, same after ashlands

How would you guys feel about private servers copying your builds for use for themselves? Given the open nature of this project and how amazing the teasers we've seen the videos are, this is likely going to happen. I don't run a server, but one I play on has had other servers copy their builds and they got a bit disgruntled about it.

Yeah I guess its hard for us to see it as anything but the project that we've been working on for the last few months. Its very nice to hear that perspective though, thanks for sharing. If anything, I guess I just hope that other people attempt more stuff like this because it has been a lot of fun and a great reward for us being able to provide something directly to the community of the game we love and are spending time in anyway.

Thanks for all of your hard work. I worked on Skyblivion for a while. I understand how these projects are an immense undertaking. I can't imagine trying to do this with only two people. Not a live server. Its a world file download. So anyone can download the file and play it once its out.👍 Live server mmo option is what the other creators we gave the world to are doing. Gothalion and Atlas.

The loot is designed for solo or mulitplayer playthroughs. A lot of loot is just placed once which means everyone will be sharing the loot and everyone will be playing different play styles based on the current loot you can find. A solo would leave some behind whereas a big group would keep upgrading the lowest persons gear or giving items to people that are playing that items play style. There is plenty of loot though so dont worry. And some items that are given only once at first will pop up again later in random spots. There is some crafting but most items are giving already made.

As someone who very recently dove into modding to create a world for my friend group on our new dedicated server, I would love to see the nerdy side of how you made this world. And I am extremely interested to see how you set up the classes/quest system without a mod like KGMarketPlace.

@@9byte Well, I'm not sure if you're interested, but if later down the line y'all decide to make a version of this world with modded NPCs (traders, quest givers, etc) I would be happy to share my configs that I made. I have quests givers and traders specifically configured for each biome (I got the inspiration from the way y'all made a town for each biome) the traders/quest givers only offer what is available at that biome.
Edit: Only up to the Mistlands, I have not made any NPC configs for Ashland's or deep North.

@@kratosdertoten4035 Its more of a 'quest-light' system I would say. So yeah static tamed npcs with custom appearances. Then coded runestones next to them marked by invisible signs with yellow exclamation point. Runestones actually have a lot of text options too. So its better than we originally thought but still simple compared to AAA games of course.

Its crazy you were able to do all this in as little as 1000 hours.... Game development studios take years upon years to build those buggy AAA games with stale worlds and lackluster quests. cough*diablo 4, PoE, Outward etc*cough All of which were only held up by their character systems rather than their worlds. Cant wait to play this, looks really good. Keep up the good work!

You two achieved something amazing. Im so excited for this map. Id even say as excited for your adventure map as for the upcoming Elden Ring DLC! Really hope you guys make it big and that a bunch of content creators (also the big ones like Asmon) are going to shine light on this project and that it gets the deserved recognition. With all the hype surrounding this project you guys will singlehandedly make Valheim go up in the "Most Played" games category on Steam. I can feel it. Seeing the work that @ninebyte has put in here for just a video describing what they're working on - and realizing the quality of this video is just a taste of where your actual creative efforts have been pointed - is a major CLUE as to how detailed and amazing this map is going to be!
When I see all those custom-made objects, buildings and locations, it's like my SOUL salivates at your ingenuity, the creativity, the work and effort put into THIS project by you guys, ...it has my hope for Humanity rising again! It's always been my dream to see this level of dedication in artists who collaborate, and I'm actually emotional about this project of yours.

yes it is completely unmodded so everything is available to everyone. npcs and quests done with vanilla assets only

Thank you! No vanilla enhanced version with mods but you could definitely use mods if you wanted to. Just keep in mind that it isn't designed for it and that you might affect the experience negatively if you are just jumping over barriers, doing massive damage, etc.

This is an amazing project and you guys really put in alot of work, will defo check out the world once its available. The effort is immensely appreciated. It has been a dream for many of us to do something like this, altho some of us have been trying to convince irongate to let us build POIs to be scattered in worlds which seems likely to be entertained after 1.0
Also shared this project with an irongate dev and he thought it was pretty cool what you guys have done. Once the map is out i'll share the map with him and ask them to test it out on their free time.
