I got reminded of this game a few weeks ago, was hyped dor a release but the news of the release never reached me. (Batallion tried the same with some succes at the time but that game died too soon aswell)

I get with the LMGs/MGs they want it to make it realistic. But even when firing on the hip, the recoil is not outrageous. Though I don't know about WW 1 and 2 era weapons but I feel like they should've gone what BFV did with the machine guns where you can able to use them normally while firing on the hip. It not going to be accurate but the recoil can be controllable. And obviously mounting the gun on its bipod will heavily make it more accurate and lower the recoil.
They could've been the first ones to impliment that feature. Obviously it's already too late but odd how certain features like that literally killed the game.

XDefiant will be going up against CoD 2024. a game that will no longer be bound by past generation consoles and has had the longest dev time of any CoD... if it had when hype was at its peak it would have done well, unless next years CoD is a complete 0/10 flop (which is near impossible) I don't see how its going anywhere. it'll probably be like splitgate, big for a month or two then trail off quite quickly.

Day of Defeat Source is another WW2 game where the MG class is basically unusable unless mounted in a position, so I wouldnt be shocked if that where Days of War got the idea.

It's literally just a remastered Day of Defeat by indie devs, the reason it died off is because people aren't really interested in WWII Counter Strike games. It was good fun, nothing really wrong with it other than a lack of unlockable items compared to Battalion 1944 at the time, but games shouldn't need that stuff for people to play them.

people say this is bait but its true. people only hated them because we got 3 future cods in a row. all 3 of those cods were fun in their own way. especially bo3, it was goofy but fun with balanced guns, maps with unique routes, and excellent dev support with all the challenges that gave us weapon supply drops, the community challenges . IW was more refined/serious with a better supply drop system, good maps, good weapon balance, good campaign, good zombies.
