Hero shooters turn people off by default pretty much immediately. But what I feel can very easily kill a game is it's vibe alone. There's just something about certain art styles that I can pick up on immediately and go "yeah, that won't last" and I've been right every single time. The only thing that changes that art style point, is if the gameplay is just absolutely flawless, or it's a massive previously established ip that has enough previous stuff backing it up to keep it going beyond that quick death game period.

It never really interested me enough to play it. The Finals was coming out around the same time and that just seemed way more fresh. I was supprised it had such a short life tho.

Sucks to see a bunch of people's work die. It does feel good seeing the idiots who swore by this game disappear a month after launch tho 😂😂.

i liked the game for the most part but the main issue i had was balancing. Snipers were way over power, you barely have flinch when you got shot at, so people (shown in your gameplay) ran around with sniper's one shotting everyone. Don't not matter if you got 2 or 3 shot off first, it was easy to line up you shot. Also SSM, I'm in the middle of casual and tryhard. So i would have people who were shit at the game, doing nothing to help with the OBJs then you go against a fucking pro team. I would find it fun to go against tryhards once and a while, but having shit teammates just make it not fun.

The only reason this game had any chance is that it realised in between cods and it was free. Once the new cod came out it had no shot

X defiant used to be their take on an arcade fps but everyone focused too much on the cod killer point of the game that it didn’t get a chance to be a good game. its partially our fault too for having expectations for a company known to not finish their games and make questionable decisions. marathon from bungo will follow suit soon.

I would have played it if they removed hero abilities entirely. No one wants hero shooters anymore, everyone hated specialists on Cod so making bootleg Bo4 just felt like shit tbh lol. The general gameplay loop had potential, just the hero shooter aspect made this game trash, XDefiant would have been 10x better if it was just a simple faction based nameless/faceless soldier game like the old Cods, no heros, no abilities nothing, just simple gun to gun action. Aside from the netcode, hit reg issues, the jump spam was atrocious, everyone was a kangaroo, it needed to be nerfed to the ground, old Cod had a severe momentum penalty for bhopping, which was non existent in XDefiant, it killed the game for it on top on abilities.

@Nitroh- my favorite cod was BO3 the specialists made it more interesting. Adding depth to the gameplay doesn't hurt it. Only reason COD doesn't do it is because it'd be harder to make/sell skins

Didn’t innovate enough to keep people active. It also felt too clunky to me, like the movement of cod with the speed of siege

@@Slackerson Man the finals I played it for a day with my friends and then we forgot all about it. I didn’t like the mechanics as much as I liked the mechanics in Xdefiant but it was a cool concept. I think Xdefiant needed something to make it unique like R6. If people wanted a run and gun game they have CoD

@Immessy_2 Yeah, but it was nice for most cosmetics being grindable, and there being different franchises together was pretty cool. The guns and movement felt good imo. But yeah there wasn't that much other than that. I'm honestly surprised The Finals is still alive, I never hear anything about it
