Why does anyone care about steeper roofs? I just want more corner pieces that aren't just 90° so we can actually make buildings that look good and have more unique angles without clipping roofs

@ultimatewafflegaming1018 don't build in unreleased biomes (currently only the deep north) this almost always guarantees 1. Either your build gets destroyed and/ 2. The terrain doesn't generate correctly risking your world/save file to become corrupt as more updates come out.

I'm interested in the fact that the divider seems to be 1m tall, as judged from the gaps (two visible on the right) but also potentially 1m wide (the gap only go one rung along). This would be fantastic for adding finer details and small window openings to builds!

Edited. This statement is false: The new roof pieces are actually 67.5 degrees. We get 45 degree and 22.5 degree roof pieces in Meadows. The new angle is 45 + 22.5 = 67.5 degree roof pieces.

@@Versaugh You are correct. In a 1 2 (sq rt 5 ) right triangle, the smallest angle is 26.6 degrees, not 22.5 degrees (half of 45). So the other angle is 63.4 degrees. Quick mental math error late at night. :)

It's more like 60ish degree i would say. 60° cuz that triangle on top looks rather equilateral. And 64° is what an inverted 26° piece would be

Steeper roofs are a game changer, but I need more variety to stone building pieces before I come back. Makes me sad that we have nothing resembling cobblestone or stonebricks

I think you skipped right past the new larger Campfire! 😉 Its bigger than the regular one but not as large as a Bonfire. I wonder how it will be used (and if the regular campfire isn't strong enough for the Deep North). Unless its just a really odd camera angle confusing me?

I checked for myself and it is an odd camera angle. They tweaked the FOV for a cinematic shot, I almost thought it was when you mentioned it, but I double check recreating the shot🙂

It might also be the same case as it is in the ashlands. The ruins look similar to the actual buildable pieces, but much larger and unobtainable.

Also, I believe the reason for the steep roofs gameplay wise, will be that flatter roofs will accumulate snow, weighing it down and possibly destroying the structural integrity

Yeah that is what I was thinking too, but why so dark tho especially the middle part of it, compared to the other side. When the build pieces get dmg they don't turn darkwood kind of shade🤔, I wanna believe it is just the dmg version but my heart wants more build pieces😂
