I am 4000 hours in the game, about to go to the Ashlands, but still this video has tons of info I didn't know. Thanks a bunch :)!!

I've just gotten in to this game again. I always tend to get bored around the mountains tier of progression. I'm planning in my current world to make a cool plains base. Love the video, and now I'm going to go watch all your valhiem content :)

"Best base locations"
Proceeds to enumerate ALL biomes.
OK?

Because every biome has its perks. As said in the video Plains is favored by most as the best option often close to Mistlands

My favorite place to build a base in the Mistlands is on one of those little dvergr lightposts that are on top of a spire because they're immune to gravity, so if you build only on it you can then destroy the spire for a floating castle above the mist. The only problem is I have to use a portal to get inside, but if there is a high mountain nearby you could have a feather cape landing pad.

@@emmatpotato lol, I just saw that you made one too, but with the whole top of the rock spire. On mine I destroyed the whole spire, I just didn't trust that the rock wouldn't eventually figure it out and explode, though that still could happen to the lightpost, I guess we'll see when it's finally out of early access. I hope gravity never kicks in for either of us, good luck!

@@emmatpotato I discovered it when modifying a Queen location, there was a lightpost on top and it floated after destroying the marble underneath. I found on on top of a spire and had to try it. Youtube removes links to pictures or there would be some here because it keeps deleting this comment.

Was this something you found out or saw somewhere? Asking for a friend :D

2:13 I didn't know this! Why is that the case, is it because of the rain?
@emmatpotato2025/05/11(日) 09:42
No idea, I love doing Valheim Science and this came out in one of the tests.
@calebbritannia62832025/05/11(日) 07:51
I love swamp bases, the density of the trees and size (also indestructability) means you can make really cool bases without needing to worry about support
@emmatpotato2025/05/11(日) 09:43
Indeed, and in case it helps, the shield generator when active removes rain damage on the building pieces
@SpazzyjonesGaming2025/05/11(日) 07:03
Really like the thumbnail. Clean!
@emmatpotato2025/05/11(日) 09:39
Your always look so amazing, this is an amazing compliment to hear from you Spazzy :)!

I was thinking about the Mistlands mist and now I think those mistfree zones were added in some recent patch, after Ashlands update, because too many players did not like the Mist.
@emmatpotato2025/05/11(日) 09:45
Hmm interesting, I am not sure how long I have been aware of this factoid
@rustygoddard2025/05/11(日) 06:38
My favourite farm is to find some farmable mistlands that borders on the plains. In this area, one half is mistlands farming and the other half I can plant basically everything else. Finding a large enough patch of land, in such an area, is easier than you might think. I am working on establishing a Mistfarm on my current run through right now. I have almost no mistland level gear. Stone walls are therefore very important.
