I found a Rocky randomly one day and I just knew he was special, naturally I made a shrine for him. but I didnt know they could make rocky babies! D:

yeah a potato mistake on my part, I had prepped the markers on my map and forgot to make a shot of it in the video. If it helps, Swamp starts to spawn around 2000m so if you see swamps, you know you are far enough away for sure!

I found two Rocky's, both on flat ground in the black forest. I have never found one on a slope, though others obviously have.

They do also spawn on slopes, but it is just random. So since there is more flat ground overall, finding them on flat ground has a higher chance of spawning them

From what I was able to understand, they need certain conditions for there to be a possibility to spawn (as mentioned in the video). Other then that it indeed seems mostly random if a rocky spawns there

FYI: If you have Loot set to x3, when you pick a Rocky, you will get 3 of them.

I found my first rocky in the Black Forest too, glad to know. I wish older seeds could still spawn stuff like this. But I really don't mind restarting worlds and characters.

The shared world I am on uses 1.5 drop rate. I have found Rocky in the past two worlds (reset every two months).

Knowing that Rocky will NOT spawn on the older seeds is a crutial thing to me, since my main two seeds are from the very premiere of the game. Thank You for saving my time! So, it's better to visit a new temporary seed created only for finding those hardest of the hardess viking companions :) Or, if we play with the devs commands, probably we can manually spawn a few Rockies in any random location, and then "find" them ;)

@@GoldKitsuneBrony First, let's be clear of what "older world" means. My main two worlds are far pre-hearth&home, in fact they are literally from the day 1 release version of the game. I have three different types of Mistlands there. Do you know how many patches and changes this game has from that time?

Sadly I complete forgot to add the map I created to visualize how far it is. But going further away from spawn will mostly be the best idea. I would say, if you get swamps, you are far enough away?

okay this is gonna sound more complicated than it is but open your map, zoom all the way out and take a screenshot. the radius of the world is ~10 km. open the screenshot in paint, draw a circle to fit the edge of the world, then resize it (ctrl+w) to 10% and place it around the spawn marker and that's the zone you should avoid. this method also helps when you're trying to make educated guesses where to best look for the traders.

You can use cheat commands and teleport yourself to specific cordinates. Or use Pos command. X Y Z on map
