There is actually a raid event that can happen anywhere, but only after you beat moder I believe. The "you are being hunted" event, wolf raid.

I consider myself a veteran with survival games on console (160 days in ark, played rust, long dark, stranded deep, you name it iv played it). I have to say Valheim is top 3 for me. Really forgiving to beginners in the genre. Building is fantastic and the no cost repairs is game changing in terms of enjoyment.

I tried asking everywhere so I'll ask here aswell. How do you make other people admins in a server so they can log in whitout you? Me and my buddy don't always play at the same time and when I'm offline he can't access the server, this is really frustrating and we can't find and answer anywhere

without the dev commands, pretty sure this game would not be doing as well, it's a major, major grind, I've played some grindy MMO's in my day, but damn this one is right up there, I just go tired of farming wood and stone for my structures and or farming materials I know I can get, but don't want to spend 3 hours to do it, because while that might seem like an exaggeration it's not. In fact I think the comfort buffs in this game are far to short, instead of 7mins+ 1 for every comfort after that, it should be 15mins or maybe more +1, while I'm out farming mats, you'd be surprised how fast that buff is gone, which is why when I say 3 hours, not joking at all, especially for things like sap, and or resources that have enemies around, because you doing anything in an area, draws ALL enemies within 100 meters to your location, probably not 100m, but it sure feels like 250m, so when you try and do something like sap, you will most likely have a herd of seekers or soldiers, tick, gjhall coming in to ruin your day, and you could literally spend your whole resting buff just getting rid of mobs. And while they're not suppose to respawn until a few days have passed, most of the times that is broken, you leave the immediate area after just clearing come back and they might be back again.
So yes use the dev commands to get your body back, don't stress out over it. I would have stopped playing this game from the moment I lost my body before portals, half away around the world and still use it, even with portals sometimes. Fly and get your body back, instead of taking 3 hours of what seems like sailing to travel 2 miles across the ocean. Ocean travel is far to slow as well.

This game is nowhere in the realm of grindy in the same manor imo, this game feels more like MC:Morrowind Edittion than anything lol . Most early material collection issues are solved by capturing a greydwarf spawner and setting up there or nearby until you're ready for Bonemass. If you're set up near a zone border you're also probably triggering two different zone spawners every time you leave your house, so every 2-4 seconds it checks for x number of TWO different tables of mobs and places them, so trying to kill and clear is a hassle i made the same mistake when i first started lol.

@Rawbirt if you have to create a greydwarf spawner your game is a grind, what's the difference of spending time cutting down trees and sitting there for 2 seconds at a time watching spawns die to fire traps, same damn thing, I admit this game doesn't have to be a grind, if you just play through it with the bare minimum, it doesn't require much, small wooden base with no little room and mine just the right amount of mats to craft your gear then kill the bosses, but to me this game is a building simulator I guess more then anything else, the game itself is fairly mundane and boring, i've logged 10 times the hours building vs killing mobs. If you want to kill mobs play any of the diablos.

and when I talk grind you have to factor in travel time and all that jazz, the portals make things somewhat easier, but bad wind on a boat and extremely slow boat travel times and no ability to transport ore through a portal, equals huge amounts of time spent on a boat sailing slowly home, there is no story driven anything there.. I find the boat travel to be very monotonous, but I'm getting to the end of my gaming career and I've played thousands of games over my lifetime, where they all just seem like a grind these days, but just my opinion, nothing truly special in the gameplay or story, but it's still a good game, I'm enjoying building stuff and trying out new things.
And the cart is somewhat nice, but it actually might be faster to run it back sometimes, if you fill that cart up, it literally crawls at a run and can barely make it up a hill, especially traveling through the black forest, hell I've even taken the time to make roads and the damn thing is still slow as shit. No you get used to it and it is actually super easy. I thought the same thing. Also, using beams too outline certain walls or floors will help you lock in pieces and you can always destroy the beams afterwards.

@Colton Bellamy I think I am just used to building in games like NMS and Fallout 4 where they just snap together much more easier. Hopefully I get the hang of it bc I really want to like this game

I figured the small snap points would be hard for people with controllers, but trust, this building is actually the most freeform building system in a survival game. The things you can make by clipping pieces together is amazing.

Loving this game so far, built a house with a campfire/cooking station inside, failed to properly ventilate the house(because that’s a thing in this game) and my house got smoked out so bad I almost died in my sleep lmfao, such a cool little detail

@1%used vertical beams going to the ceiling , walls going up on each side . It hasn’t rained in game since i built it so I’m not sure yet if it needs a slanted roof or not. And at the top i removed the roof like i said no slanted roof yet

I made a fire shed connected to my house with a door on the inside so I can feed the fire and it is covered by a roof so rain doesn’t put it out but it’s not sealed in fully so the smoke escapes

Samdecan answered you. No one Gives you a smelter. You have to craft it. You get the ability to do so once you aquire a surtling core from a burial chamber, which are found in the black forest.

Plays decent on series s but if you load a save on old gen you will lose your buildings etc. Had to restore an auto save after I did this.

Is there no way to relocate a building without destroying it? I don't understand how one day my fireplace was close enough to my hed to sleep then the next day its too far away to sleep. It's annoying
