The clothes need to have a different affect for certain actions. Keep one set for stam on building. Give another set of clothing for cooking can proc more food or pots. One for smelting can proc more bars maybe. Theres a lot more they could have done with the clothing. Hopefully some changes come later.

One of the slowest updating games ever. I haven't played it since the Mistlands came out, and before that I hadn't touched it for several months. These devs stumbled on a good formula and had massive success, making millions of dollars within a few months, and then they just sit around idle and taking years to make meaningful updates. The game's basically dead.

Hey if you have an in like what seemed implied during the portal talk...... get them to chill out the fog..... I like some fog some time but I would much rather be able to see the game I am playing without using commands or addons. Also the base 25 hp needs to regen..... and maybe just cut the storms in half?

It would be cool if stone portals were generated in the world and could only connect to each other. Sort of like a built in teleport system, it could make for interesting variety finding your first one in a meadow near spawn and it teleports you to a mountain halfway across the world. I imagine No-Map runs would have fun with it.

A clothing item that when equipped allows for build pieces (not weapons and armor) to be repaired without a work bench. No armor value, and maybe a speed penalty, to discourage always wearing it. But it would be nice to be able to repair my base without having four types of benches everywhere. I don't find building and breaking benches as I do repairs fun either. I just want to put on work clothes, run around doing repairs and then change back into armor.
The clothes could be leveled up, starting with just wood pieces being repairable. But eventually covering all build pieces.

So basically 'a huge update' that brings absolutely nothing. Since you brag how you speak with the devs and what a great team they have, maybe tell them to fix the freakin 'unloading unused assets' bug that destroys this game for many people from what i heard. They confirmed they know about the bug like half a year ago and it still not fixed. Bug that disconnects people from the server and when it triggers in a wrong moment (for example on a boat in the open ocean) well good luck retriving your gear and searching for the boat. So perhaps you can make them aware that they should fix the real PITA bugs instead of wasting their time doing totaly useless and meaningless updates, such as this one here. Thanks in advance.

Iron gate needs more employees so they can turn these updates out quicker! Wish they did what old sea or thieves did with monthly updates. Doesn’t have to be content necessarily every time but little QOL stuff would be nice

What a dumb thing to cry about your gear is not in your “bag” because you don’t have a “bag” that’s just the items you are carrying just because you have it equipped doesn’t mean you all of a sudden are not carrying it anymore

Talking about portals, we noticed that there is no more lag after renaming one, this makes it impossible to rename a remote portal with only two portals... I guess this was a feature and not a bug!
Could you maybe ask Jonathan to repristinate it?🙌
Regarding the stone portal I also think that it should allow heavy materials through to make it useful... it looks so cumbersome and anyway is only for late game!

I had three braziers running on the first floor. With crystal and wood chimneys to go to the second floor, I just put an iron grate over the top and POOF, no more smoke. It is not blocked, it absorbs.

The particles probably clog up and it means that your fire will automatically go out once in w while.

Shift+e was a much better solution for dropping stuff into crates. I don't like the grass change either. Most of the time I have the foliage quality set to minimum and I liked the old look. He made the game a lot easier.

As to things missing that seem to work well with vanilla game... the "HoneyPlus" by Ohhloz. Adds an apiary and upgrades. Make some additional non game breaking foods . I try keeps my mods minimal and add what makes sense to a vikings needs.

It’d be nice if the clothing was able to be worn under armor. The issue I always run into while building is not having the right stuff on for the raid that inevitably spawns. I use the Fenris set for running around meadows/forest/even the swamp, mainly for resource collection and building. But, that’s also usually when I’m set upon by a Fuling raid, which Fenris armor is just not good enough for even fully upgraded. Sure, I usually have about 10+ 2* wolves to help me out, but they get wiped by the time the raid is over.
Anyway, what I also want while building/collecting, is inventory slots. Having to carry 2+ sets of armor along with tools & weapons takes up a lot of space, plus when the raid starts I have to pause, open my inventory, then equip other stuff, which takes time.
I don’t really know what I’m gettin at here, maybe just that the clothing doesn’t seem all that useful and will just take up more inventory while doing base stuff. The stamina reduction seems nice, I’m sure it’ll help with farming and whatnot, but to me, I’d rather have on some decent armor and just use high stamina foods to make up the difference.
Unless clothing adds to the comfort level, increasing the rested buff, I just don’t see myself using it.
That stone portal on the other hand... I’d love some more variations/colors for portals and other structures. That’d be great. IN GAME, not console command, which I can’t use anyway since I play on Xbox. (I know, I know... “PC master race bruh”) I’ll make the switch eventually I’m sure, but I’ve been playing consoles since I was a kid. NES, N64, Sega Genesis, all the way up to Xbox-X. I’ve always enjoyed console, even if we don’t have quite the... freedom, and options, that PC players have.
The new snap points and other quality changes seem real good though. Just wish they’d release the update already, I’ve been trying to save unexplored areas so the new stuff can spawn in without having to make a new world.

the "stack" function is useful because it only transfers from your inventory items that are already in that chest. So, if you organize your chests, you could very easily deposit materials in an organized fashion without doing it manually with ctrl-click.

I'm pretty sure it reduces stamina usage. So you use less stamina while wearing the new clothes. When he was doing the test with the hoe, he could cover more ground in Hildir's clothes 🙂

everything is pretty cool except the chest auto stack thing, that was usefull as hell and very great mechanic so idk why they remvoed it, and also bad idea was to add grass even on the lowest vegetable setting, ive been playing on it since the beginning because 1. my pc was bad back then so having no vegetation really help, 2. its just way easier to play. 3. also way easier to build for someone that build a lot. only time i set vegetation on high was when i wanted screenshot of my builds or smth like that.

The QOL updates in this update are very nice, and will make building a little easier. I also agree that the shift+E to add to chests sounded a lot more convenient when just dropping stuff off at your base, and I hope it gets added back. I can't say I approve of the vegetation change - unless an OFF option is added. Yes, the game looks ugly with no vegetation, but it was the simplest thing to turn off and improve performance if your pc was struggling. Perhaps that won't matter so much once the game becomes more optimized.

I hope that if they do eventually have a stone portal it's more than just a mirrored re-colour. The wood portal looks organic; a stone portal should look more 'manufactured' IMO.

Can save stamina foods for adventuring when you wear light clothes doing some homesteading. Personally I just munch on honeycomb when I’m farming or building, and I’m naked, at least with clothes you look better and get a little better stamina.

My only remaining wish for the update is that they just give us a straight up tick box for "no skill drain on death", the one they have now (the slider) seem to only work in tandem with weaker mob combat skill. And I don't want that.
Anyway, hopefully it comes out soon, I slowed down the exploration on my seed (which is a really good one IMO), just so I don't break the Hildir stuff spawn potential in the unexplored areas. I really don't want to start another seed (or even this same one) from scratch.

same, also the vegetation thing is bad i think, i used to build a lot near water and basically a lot around the ground so having no vegetation really helped. also obviously early was way easier because you could find flint and the rest of resources in a instant

Oh, I thought they added a new portal type in game.
Would be awesome to have a stone portal (needs, crystal or something from frost caves) that can carry iron and copper/tin, as a midway progression. Still would need a stone cutter to be built and not be as easy as every portal allowing every ore, but make the later game iron grind less annoying if you don't resettle in the mistlands.

I've moded my server so you require thunderstore and obsidian to construct it. Also removed the teleport restrictions. I love the sound and look of the stone portal.

@Arthanor there is still a lot of reason considering that you need to explore not only the new biomes, but also new areas for ore, boss altars and when ashlands will drop - you need to travel near the end of the world

I feel like sailing your precious cargo is a major part of the game, no matter how tedious it is. Portals have their place for sure; I think the gameplay loop is great as is. I'd be down to see advanced portals, but at a significant cost.
