In the several weeks we've beeb in s2 now, I don't think I've been on Rialto or Shambali more than 5/6 times and im sure i saw vlizzard world even less (1 in winter mode n 2 or 3 times with the new weather). I play daily n I solely keep roaring between the push maps,ilios, oasis and Nepal with the occasional kings row break. It is exhausting n annoying n feels also heavily biased towards these types of maps (makes it even worse for me because I like eacort the most but barely play it at all n hate koth the most b play that all the time)

Wonder if just letting you react before roadhog deletes you is an option to nerf him. As a brig, getting hooked and I have a SHIELD I CANT USE sucks. That way roadhog has to pick his targets more carefully not just throw hook and.hope for the best

i am still of the absolute opposite opinion to you about hero swapping. Hard counters are a thing that exists. That will always be the case, unless you want to streamline heroes so much that they're all basically the same. And as long as hard counters are a thing, Hero swapping needs to be a thing, and needs to be either incentivized or at least not punished. If you're the one being hardcountered, you need to have the option to switch your hero without being punished for it. And when discussing it you've been mostly talking about DPS, but it's the Tank and Support roles that have the big problems with being hardcountered. I main support, and often i roll out of spawn only to see in the first few engagements that whatever support i picked is completely untenable in the current situation, and i either switch or throw the game. Now if you're punishing hero swapping, in that situation i'd be screwed no matter what i do, and with no fault of my own.

I tried to be with them on the idea of hero swapping, but I feel like it breaks the flow of the match too much. Would be more interesting to see hero swapping per round instead. It’s too hard to maintain a flow of the match when switching completely changes the pace of the game and requires noobs to know so much more they probably get discouraged

If you introduce a draft / pick phase into the Overwatch League, you end up with chaotic games that look like random ladder games.
It's sad but probably the #1 reason why they don't do it in the League. The Team coordination would fall down from the stratosphere into the mariana trench.

To be honest, in the metal ranks Sojourn doesn't get played that much anymore (in comparison). I think people finally realised, that they are too bad.
I see a lot of Soldier instead. What does feel way worse is the fact, that roadhog nor orisa do not die (ever). Buffing Orisa was definetly the wrong way to go about it.
Buffing everything into the stratosphere is, bad... How about nerfing roadhogs breather damage reduction and orisas "gold damage reduction" ? Problem solved.

Everything around overwatch is so slow and stale, they even cannot get a weekly blog post done. Probably is another one of their anti toxic methods. No post means nothing the community can response to. And they don't have to address the lack of change for weeks in a row.

I actually quite like the retained 30% ult charge, but it's definitely caused a weird issue for the tanks.
If I had to guess at what Blizz will change:
Starting in S3, you will now keep 30% (or less) of whatever ult charge you have gathered. So you'll only get the full 30% back if you already had a fully charged ult. Somebody with 30% ult charge will end up with only 9% ult charge.

My biggest gripe has been a long time one. I hate private profiles. It just makes the game feel less like actual people playing the game. Sometimes I get dumpstered on so bad by an enemy widow I want to check their rank and hours played on the hero. It lets me know the work they’ve put in.
I get that they did it to combat toxicity but it hasn’t helped. It just shuffled the types of toxicity.

Agreed please get rid of private profiles. Fight toxicity by banning toxic people. Sometimes someone on my team isn’t picking so I’ll check their profile to see what they play and oops I can’t. It’s just annoying and doesn’t fight toxicity at all

My only problem with hero bans is what if someone's best character gets locked out. TBH I would just leave. I don't have time to fuck around with matches where I am gimped. Sure I could put time into other heroes but I learn way slower in such aggressive games it took me a year of grinding on lucio to get okay with him. So to just say something as stupid as just learn more heroes your clearly not considering that not everyone learns at the same rate. You can call me trash or dumb or whatever but it wont change the fact that I am not an anomaly and I am certain there are plenty of other people with similar problems. Thats not even considering people who just straight up barely have time to learn a whole roster of characters. Not everyone streams and games all day long and gets paid for it. I am not ripping on anyone that does but my point is balance should never be considered for the people who's entire day is consumed by OW it should be considered for the average player which is what they are doing.

"better ways to communicate with players" uhhhhh how about in-game? improve the menus that are already there so we can easily find recent community updates, upcoming patch news, ongoing twitch drops, participate in polls and surveys for OW coins/battle pass exp, see OWL scheduling with links to live matches, and whatever else fits. I'm sick of having to scour twitter for information or watch 5 different youtubers BIG SEASON 3 NEWS videos that end up just being ad revenue bait speculating on vague developer statements.

OWL playing the same comps on both sides can easily be boiled down to bad coaching or bad player mentality. When I hear people say they dont have enough time to learn multiple teams I just laugh, like what are they doing in scrims then? What are they doing everyday of the week, and with how long OWL sets go each scrim block can get far more full sets in then any competitive moba scrim block, and they learn far more comps characters and even an entire item store. Its simple to assume players are lazy or have no drive to work towards different strategies or the league or coaches are just intentionally failing to do their job or properly advise teams.

They need to bring back levels and level borders, plus the after match metals. For me and a lot of my friends who played overwatch for years. We all agreed that it was so much fun to progress levels. Even if they don’t have a loot box or whatever at the end of each level. Just having that level border and all the quality of life stuff really made the game addicting and fun. Now i just level up my battle pass, try to stay on plat on comp and then I put the game down for 4 weeks because there is nothing to work or do.

So true that they need to be fluidly changing their minds cause it seems like they’re not now. It really does tie into how they did esports, in big business models the product you see today is the result of ideas decided on months ago that underwent months of behind the scenes polish. I will say when role queue was added I think OW1 was in an amazing state on a kind of unrelated note I think competitive right now suffers from shorter team fights and I’m not sure if blizzard even wants to fix that.

Not even close, their hotifx system allows them to ignore that on top of the fact that multiple other games have far more consistent patches on crossplatform games with smaller teams and farm more changes and additions per patch. This will engage players to show off and feel as if their questions can be put in chat and asked by creators. This would be a great first step in making this a real community
